Flores de Mayo

Flores de Mayo is a Catholic festival held in the Philippines in the month of May. This is a celebration for a whole month in May and is held in honor of Virgin Mary. During the last month a Santacruzan is also held, this is a parade held on the last day of Flores de Mayo in honor of Reyna Elena. A Santacruzan is a religious-historical beauty pagent held in many cities, towns and even smll villages throughout the Philippines during the month of May. (Wikipedia)

I called my Mom last night and she told me that my nephew joined the Flores de Mayo in our church. He is very witty nephew of mine. He is in 3rd grade and he is studying in a Catholic school so he knows how to recite the rosary in English version. In our barangay they have the Visayan version and he said he had a hard time memorizing. He is enjoying though so its a good thing.
