Friendship Tag

Anger is only one letter short of danger. If someone betrays you once, it is his fault; If he betrays you twice, it is your fault. Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people. He, who loses money, loses much; He, who loses a friend, loses much more; He, who loses faith, loses all. Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art. Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself. Friends, you and me…You brought another friend…And then there were 3…We started our group…Our circle of friends…And like that circle…There is no beginning or end…Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift....

So now, let’s see how many circles of friends we can make by simply adding your link on this Friendship Meme! 1. Casty Carpe Diem 2. Catsy Downloads 3. Out of the Blue 4. A Day to Savor and Relish 5. Inspirational Stories

I don't know but it seems like my lacrimal canal, where tears pass through from the lacrimal gland, is very shallow. I was watching the Extreme Home Make Over on ABC and I was moved by what the Extreme team did to a single Mom of 4 children. She is an inspiration to all women. I know there are women who are also in the same situation as she is, but knowing that she wasn't discourage and still pursue her dreams is something.

You can say that it is the reality of life nowadays. There are lots of single parents out there and doing great job for their families. I commend them for their courage and strong will power of making their life better despite being alone. This episode really knocked some sense that even though life is hard if you just become persistent and take charge of your life you will achieve your goals. Be focused and do the right thing to move forward because as the saying goes that "there is always light at the end of the tunnel".

True Spring Weather

Today is a very nice day. I can say its a true spring weather. The sun is very bright, the wind is very subtle and the skies are blue. Although the temperature is still a bit cold but I see some folks that were able to sport out their pair of short, short sleeves shirt and flip flops. I was able to turn off all our lights and still the light from outside make our apartment brighter. I only opened the blinds both in our windows and french door going to the back porch. I am planning to go out and make a walk around the complex when DD wakes up. Hope this kind of weather will last long.

Get Intervention for your Drug Problem

I am wondering why there are people that when faced with problem will turn to drug abuse or alcohol. Does it really ease or take away the problem? In my opinion, it would only make the matter worse. If this will be constantly done, drug addiction and alcoholism will be the end result. It will be the worst scenario later on. I would say that if you feel that you are into deep with it and become drug dependent or alcohol dependent you need to take Drug Addiction Treatment. The earlier you get intervention, the easier it is to handle your problem.

There are Drug Rehab Program that includes psychiatric counseling. This will help you not only with Drug Treatment but to rehab self confidence and eliminate your need for prohibited drugs. If you are facing a life problem that is why you turn into drug addiction, there are also rehab programs that will give educational therapy sessions on how to deal with your problems as well as how to strengthen yourself to combat life's hardships. Choose a very good and reliable drug rehabilitation center. Like the Narconon Vista Bay drug rehab program where they emphasizes and focuses in long term recovery and give you the best treatment possible. Abusing drugs is not an answer to anything, keep away from it and get help as early as you can.

Will Miss the Reunion

Our clan back in Pinas will have a reunion this coming April. This will be the first time that the host place will be our town. My family and all my relatives in our town will be the hosts. It so sad that I will not be able to be there and meet more of my relatives from other places. It definitely would be a blast. I called my parents and they said that everything is good to go now. They already have a venue and the food will be catered so no relatives will be cooking and everybody will enjoy. Wish we can be there. I will just wait for the update and pictures.

This Road Rallies that is lapping the US follows a define and precise instructions of the exact route and speed. The first official race was called the Cannonball One Lap of America was in 1984 that started and finished in Darien, Connecticut. And from then on there is an event that happen every year. This will be their first time they will be joining for this historic event. And although it has been only a couple of months that it is being introduced and sold here in the US but it already has gained a lot of attention and amazement from so many people.

Honestly, when I first saw this car online it look so cute and wish I can own one :-) I love the design. It looks like it will be fun driving it around the city. I heard that 451s is very economical and is comparable to a Ferrari. It's gas mileage is far more than the other cars that will join the race rally. On the 2008 One Lap of America race, Mr. Stephen Noton will drive 451 smart along with his co-driver. It will be a record when this tiny of a car but very reliable will beat other well known vehicles.

Snowing in Spring

We went out to Walmart past 3pm this afternoon and it was showering. I also felt the coldness of the air that made mu knuckles white gripping the stroller handle. As soon as I drove off from our apartment complex the rain came pouring down hard. I just grabbed what I needed inside the store and then out. But it was already raining cats and dogs outside. When I parked the car in the carport the slushy snow was pouring and it was so beautiful to look at the snowflakes falling from the skies. I took a picture outside above.

Spring Cleaning

I am not really doing the tossing and turning of furniture when I am cleaning since there's not much to clean anyhow. If you have a baby everyday is cleaning day for you. What I am trying to clean sweep is our closet. I already packed Shiloh's small clothes and I am now doing our closet. When I took out all my old clothes that I don't like to wear anymore, some of it has still tag in it, looks like I will not have enough clothing left :-) I am planning to send it back home since I have a lot of relatives that can still wear it. I already packed one balikbayan box and I will need another one for some of the goodies that I bought for them. I am not a pack rat and neither is hubby so I really don't have a pile here. So spring cleaning is very easy for me to do.

What Ellen DeGeneres said about Philippines

Ellen DeGeneres is a famous Hollywood actress and award winning talk show host here in the US. Her tv show has been a medium for a lot of talents from other countries, like, featuring talents she found from YouTube. This morning I was watching her show and she mentioned again another singer/band from Philippines that I believe they invited to guest in her show. She said there are so many talented people in the Philippines. She mentioned about Charisse Pempengco and then this new discovery on YouTube, Arnel Pineda. I am proud to hear that people like her recognizes our country and go above and beyond by inviting these talents to grace her show.

First Day of Spring

Today is the first day of spring but the weather here is not springy yet. It is wet, windy and can you believe we experience a few minutes of winter in spring because it rained with hails. Not just snow flakes but hails. I was wondering what is the noise I heard, like somebody is throwing little stones in our window. When I peeked outside I saw the itty bitty hails falling from the skies.

5th Annual Dark Sky Festival

We are experiencing right now different types of pollution. Mother earth is suffering for man's neglect and environmental abuse. It would be very nice if we make a move to join in finding for a solution to stop environmental destruction. It may be a small act of concern for our environment but it will give an impact. If you like to be a part of pollution solution, you can check out the Dark Sky Festival 5th year celebration. This will be held in Harmony, Florida on April 5, 2008, Saturday at 7pm-11pm. The festival will kick off during the National Dark Sky Week. This is the week where everybody is encouraged to help lessen or prevent light pollution by using better outdoor lighting practices. The festival's objective is to promote proper usage of lightings, such as less usage of artificial lights that will create pollution. This is free to all who would like to come. There will be fun games, live entertainment, music, food and a lot of specialized booths that will showcase different zones where kids and youth can enjoy astronomical events like watching the skies in different telescopes. This is really great fun and youth awareness about light pollution. The event will be hosted by the International Dark Sky Association (IDA).

Check this out:

Press Release:

Get Ready! This Year’s Dark Sky Festival is Out-of-this-World

HARMONY, FL – March 15, 2008 – The 5th Annual Dark Sky Festival at Harmony will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008. Sponsored by the Harmony Institute, the Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau, several astronomy clubs, the Osceola News Gazette and Florida Travel & Life Magazine, the event will kick off at 7pm in Harmony's Town Square.

“The Dark Sky Festival is intended to celebrate and promote the benefits of a night-sky free from the effects of excessive artificial lighting,” said Greg Golgowski, Harmony’s Conservation Director and a key member of the Dark Sky Festival Planning Committee. “Poor outdoor lighting not only washes out the splendor of the heavens, but also reduces visibility at night, wastes energy, and disturbs wildlife.”

As with the past four Dark Sky Festivals, attendees will be able to enjoy viewing the night skies through a variety of telescopes. There also be lots of music and food, numerous specialty booths, an educational zone with presentations from astronomers and other scientists, nocturnal creatures, a Cosmic Kids Zone and so much more.”

Local favorite, the Silver Clouds Orchestra, will start the entertainment portion of the evening at 7:00pm. This will be followed by a free concert by legendary recording artists, Rare Earth.

Rare Earth will take to Harmony’s outdoor amphitheatre stage at 8:00pm for a live concert chock full of their greatest hits including “Get Ready” and “I Just Want to Celebrate.”

“We are ecstatic to have Rare Earth performing at this year’s Festival,” said Shad Tome, president of Harmony Development Group. “We are encouraging everyone to wear comfortable shoes because Rare Earth is known for getting the whole audience up and dancing.”

The festival will be emceed by Magic 107.7’s afternoon drive on-air personality and program director Ken Payne.

The Festival is open to the general public. Over 3,500 people are expected to attend the event this year. The event will conclude around 11:00pm.

This date was selected because it falls on the heels of National Dark Sky week (March 29 – April 4); where people in the United States are encouraged to turn out their unnecessary outdoor lights in order to temporarily reduce light pollution.

For more information, please visit www.DarkSkyFestival.com or call 407-891-8358.

Cure for Nail Fungus

My father always go to our farm every single day except when he got sick or he has other appointment that he will not go there. He told me the last time we talked that he is bothered by a nail fungus on his left foot toenail. He asked if I can get something for him to relieve it. Home remedies to cure nail fungus are what he needs. I am looking at different topical ointment but I still have to ask him to see a dermatologist to assist of what exactly is the type of microorganism it is so I can get a proper medicine for him. I researched online and at nail-fungus-toenail.com have a lot of home remedies that I can share to my Dad to alleviate his situation.

Monday's Errand

The day is not good because it is very windy and raining but I have to go out and do my errands. I have to mail my box of goodies, along with our letters and card to our Daddy, mail payment bills. I went out almost 2pm because I waited for hubby's call. When I reached the store, Mr. Postman, I told the lady I will do money order. I did not know that they need cash for money order and I did not bring cash so I have to go to a bank. The ATM is a drive thru so I just open my window and make a transaction. My problem was I forgot the PIN for our debit card. Good thing I brought my own so I was able to take money out after I got some food stuff at Walmart. After my transaction at the store I went home and the rain was pouring so heavily. I was driving slow because the wind slammed at the car. Glad we got home without any glitch.

Inurance Quotes

Insurance is very important for every family. This will prepare the future of the love ones left behind in case something will happen to the insurer. Once you are insured make sure to keep your insurance policy for it's future use. I have known when we moved here that every state insurance varies in premiums depending on the providers parameters. I was trying to get Washington insurance quotes for different providers and surely they have different rates. I used My Online Insurance Quotes.com for a free quotes. They provide a wide range of providers in different states in the US and i got the online insurance quotes for free. So if you need to get an insurance you can check out myonlineinsurancequotes.com to get your insurance quotes and look for the best one that suits your needs.

Chat with my Family

I am happy since I was able to talk to my family back in Philippines. I am glad that they are all fine and my father is already recovering from having an amoeba. They had him on IV (dextrose) at home since he don't wanna go to the hospital. I talked to him and he was able to hear his granddaughter laughing and mumbling at the background. They are happy just to hear her voice. My Mom said they wish they can see her soon. I know. I wanted to see them soon as well. I told my Mom to go with my sis to an internet cafe so we can chat online and use the web cam. Hopefully within this week they can do it.

Unstable Economy

The investors right now is facing the pressure after the buy of Bear Stearn by JP Morgan Chase. I watched the news how the stocks downfall of Bear Stearn from $100+ per stock a year ago is being bought by JP with just $2 a stock. That is a very big deflation. Who would be next in line after this 5th biggest investment company buy out? Is this an indication that recession is just in the doorstep? I hope we can see some light leading to stabilization of the US economy so we will not fear of more increase in price of our basic needs.

I Love Oyster

When I was young my Mom used to cook sea shells, mostly bivalves such as oysters, fresh from the ocean. There is this fisherman couple who brings to our house every weekend fresh seafoods. The first time I tasted oyster it became my favorite. There are so many recipes that I like using oysters, like stuffed oyster which I already tried making using the Gulf oysters, baked oyster, grilled, oyster cake, dip and lot more. Oysters have a lot of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, such as zinc, omega 3 fatty acid and vitamin B12. There are also risks eating this specially raw. So just be aware of eating uncooked oysters.

I wanna pass this award to Yen, Chikai, Jeanne, Chant, CC, Lucel Julianna and Liza.

Fashion Schools in New York

Speaking about fashion, I noticed that New York is the center of fashions, trends and styles here in the US. People all over the world will look at NY aside from Paris for fashion as well. What style is new in the market, you can find it first in New York. That is why you can also find most of the fashion schools in New York. I was browsing online where to find fashion schools and the best that I find is in New York. I browsed through the fashion school finder and I found more featured New York fashion schools than other state in the US. These schools includes Katharine Gibbs School, The Art Institute, the Westwood College and others. I have a friend who wanted to pursue a career in fashion design and I can give her this fashion school finder so she can get more information about a fashion school in New York. She likes one in New York because it is the fashion capital. The opportunities later on are humongous. Most of the celebrity fashion designers are there in New York. So if you have the talent in fashion check out fashion school in New York and pursue your career.

Ice tagged me this :-)

Rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Look up page 123.
3. Look for the fifth sentence.
4. Post the three sentences that follow the fifth sentence.

As I have said in my other blog that I am currently reading two books. A New Earth and Women & Money. Both books I find so helpful in enriching your life. You will be awaken if you read it and it's best to follow it as well. Right now I am following what Suze Orman is trying to impart in her book. I learn so much about saving and preparing for the future. It is very empowering as a woman when you follow her advice.

"To encourage you to save, the traditional 401(k) plans have a bunch of tax breaks. First, the money you invest in the plan— known as your contribution—is taken out of your paycheck
before taxes. So every dollar that you invest in your retirement plan reduces your taxable income for that year by $1."

In My Crib

I can't leave her alone anymore because she loves to stand up more that I am afraid she will let go and fall. Also everytime I put her in her crib she will end up standing up and calling me. If she don't see me she will cry.

Inside her crib. I need to take off the mobile because she is trying to reach out into it.

Hotel Reservations

Having a vacation without planning in advance where you are going to stay or what flight you are going to take is going to be daunting. I experienced it before that we hopped from one hotel to another because we did not book in advance. It was very tiring and aggravating. We paid too much for our hotel because it was a last minute check in. We can't even get a good one because most hotels are already full. We have to get whatever is available. So my recommendation is to check out online. You can choose your hotel accommodation as well as get a good deals and hotel discount because you do it in advance. And one website to go is hotelreservations.com.

Hotel Reservations caters accommodations for all over the world. You can book your flight or hotels to anywhere in the world. You can also book for Motels, Resorts, bed and breakfast, or even villas and condo. They have great deals as well as hotel discounts. Once you book through them you can also get a rebate of up to $100. So if you want to book hotels, vacation packages, cruises or flights, check out Hotel Reservation, great hotel deals and discounts, rebates and up to 70% of savings, what more you can ask for?

Breastfeeding and Teething

Until now I am still breastfeeding my little girl. She will be 10 months old this month and I am surprised I still have lots of milk although I give her formula about 12-16 oz a day just to make sure she is well supplemented. My Mom told me to wean her because she is already teething and she may bite my nipples while I am feeding her. But by God's grace she did not do it yet to me. Although she will bit my shoulder or hand or palm when she feels her gums itchy or what not but she didn't. I hope I can still breastfeed her until she will turn a year old and then I will start weaning her. Right now she has 4 teeth already and sure am it will hurt as heck if she bites I just hope she will not do it to me :-)
