Pose inside SPSCC

As I've said in my previous post that we went to one of the community college here in our place. Hubby said that they made a lot of improvements in the campus compared to 10 years ago when he first set foot in this community college. The campus is surrounded with a lot of trees and greens. It is very cool because it is shaded. We were walking around after our walk in appointment at the enrollment services. Of course when you walk around the new place picture taking is not to be forgotten, hence the poses above :-)

Airbrush

My brother who is planning to put up a car shop is in need of equipment and paraphernalia for his soon to be shop. He is a certified mechanic and he is also thinking of including a body painting for vehicles. I was planning of giving him some of the things that he need. He will be celebrating his birthday in October so this is some sort of a birthday gift for him from us. I am looking at airbrush that for sure will be very important in the painting job. I found an online store that has wide selection of airbrushes at a very affordable price. This is through tcpglobal.com. I am pretty sure that I can find good deals there and my brother will be delighted of this unexpected gift.

Hurricane Gustav

The hurricane Gustav that is raising havoc in the Caribbean is now inching its way to Mississippi and Louisiana. I am praying that it will not be like Katrina again. I was watching the news and I am glad that all the people are already prepared and doing preparations in case it will become a strong category hurricane. What happened to Katrina was really a terrible thing and I am praying the people and the government will really join hand in hand to prevent any disastrous events from happening again. I have friends in Florida who went through with many tropical storms there and they said it is really very scary. If you don't have enough preparation it will be very devastating. I am glad they are all okay.

Back to School

It just came as a very impulse decision for us. We went to one of the community college here in our area because hubby is going to enroll and it turned out that I also enroll for the fall quarter. This means that me and hubby will be going back to school starting this September 25. We both are excited because hubby really want me to go back to school before I find another job. The certificate program that I am planning to take, hopefully, if they credit my classes from Georgia, I will finish it in the winter quarter. I am crossing my fingers that they will so I can get two classes this fall. I will write about it more when everything is squared away already.

My Entrecard Widget

At long last I already had my entrecard widget replaced. What I had before was a pre-form widget. It was free and I am very thankful for it. My cousin told me that she asked Cathy of Me and My World to make her an entrecard widget. I find it very nice and I thank Cathy for making my two widgets for my two blogs Happy Life and Living @ Evergreen State. If you want to have a customized widget/logo or banners you check her site out and contact her. Thanks again Cathy for my pretty EC widgets :-)

Before and After

Life Pinoy Style

I am glad I am able to watch Filipino Channel through our cable subscription. It reminds me of home and I am able to know news and current events happening in my home country. Aside from it I also get to see Life Pinoy Style, a cooking cum lifestyle show hosted by Chef Ron Bilaro. He's a good cook and I heard he was able to cook for the famous talk show host Oprah Winfrey in Chicago before. This show, Life Pinoy Style, talks about the different life of pinoy here in the US through cooking different Filipino dishes. I also get recipes that I cook through them at their website. I am glad that I am still connected with my home country through the television.

Meatloaf

I am not really a good cook. Although I am trying to because I have a family to be fed. I usually copy recipes online as well as from different cookbooks that I have. The past weeks I told hubby that I wanted to try making a meatloaf. Hubby said it is one of their comfort food while growing up. Then one day I was watching Boy & Kris, a Filipino talk show, thru The Filipino Channel and Kris was making this meatloaf wrapped with bacon along with this lady chef. I wasn't able to copy the recipe but I kind of remember what are the ingredients they used. I also look online to verify the ingredients. So in short I was able to make it a week ago and it turned out really good. Hubby said it was really yummy and he love the meatloaf sauce. Here are pictures below.

Honestly I really did not follow the measurement of each ingredients. As what they said I am using eyeballing :-)

My ingredients:

Ground sirloin beef
breadcrumbs
egg
Worcestershire sauce
onion
bell peppers
bacon
salt and pepper
For the sauce: mustard, ketchup, sugar

Procedure:

Saute onion and bell peppers in a little bit of butter for best result before mixing with the other ingredients. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce in a bowl then add the sauteed onion and bell peppers. Line the meatloaf pan with bacon making sure you have the other end lose free. Spread the meat mixture in the pan evenly.

For the sauce, just mix the mustard, ketchup and sugar then pour on top the meatloaf. Then wrap the lose end of the bacon on top of it. Preheat the oven at 350deg. Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour or add another 25 min. to make sure it is thoroughly cooked.

Confused

I am really confused right now. I want to do a lot of things but I don't know where to start. There are so many things I need to consider before pursuing one plan. Everytime I think of something there is always a hindrance. I can't decide for a concrete plan because of fear that I will not be able to do it. I am a go getter but now seems like my confidence is being tested. I hope I will be able to clear up my mind and really decide exactly what I wanted to do.

Not Yet Ready for Wireless

Hubby bought me a wireless card for my laptop but the thing is it load so slow like a snail that I think it is not yet ready to go wireless. I am just glad that we have extra Cat5e patch cable that I use to extend the connection to our bedroom. I am still able to do some task in the bedroom. If you need this kind of cable you can check out firefold.com. They offers a lot of selection with Cat5E products at a very affordable price. If you have any questions you can chat to their live support and they will answer your queries. They also ensure same day shipping with 30 days money back guarantee.

Fountain

When we go to Seattle we always pass by the Seattle Center and check out the fountain there. It really give me a soothing effect watching the water dancing to the tune. Yeah I say dancing because the water spurts out with the music on. I like hearing the classic music. I can't wait for our DD to become older so she can also run around, chase the water like the other kids I saw there. It is really fun. The first time I saw the fountain it's very tempting to join the kids but I hold myself. When we went there last weekend we stopped by there and look at it again from the distance because it was already late.

Who wants pepper garland?

When we went to Seattle last weekend we also checked out the Pike Place Public Market. As I have said before the they're celebrating 101st anniversary so there were lots of vendors selling fresh produce and products. While we were browsing along I saw these pepper garlands that adorned the tent shops. It was very colorful I can't just pass without taking a picture of it.

Soggy and Wet

We are experiencing a soggy and wet weather since Monday here in our area. It makes you lazy to go out and do something. The past week was really hot here with 90s temperature and now it is raining. That's how quick weather changes. Right now we have cloudy skies and the temperature this time is dropping to 70s and 60s. This means that fall is just around the corner. When it is that time of the year it is also the time to have our thick jackets out. In some parts of the country, especially in Florida, the weather is stormy. They experienced strong gust of winds and hard raining that causes flood as well. I hope people affected are safe and are able to get through the nasty weather.

Monday Morning

Another interesting information that I heard from Dr. Oz the day where it is very critical for our health especially if you have heart problem or high blood pressure. And accordingly it is on Monday morning. Yes you read it right because Monday morning is when the stress level of a person is high. During this time and day that a person have to think about going to work and more. So when you worry too much and you are stressed out then you have constricted heart arteries then what likely could happen is a heart attack or causing your blood pressure to shoot up. I did not think about this but its making sense. So be careful every Monday morning. Don't let the stress take its toll on you.

Exercise to Stay Fit

I watched Oprah this afternoon and the guest was Dr. Mehmet Oz. They were having a health quiz inside the studio and the questions were very interesting. It's objective is to know what are the things we should do and be aware of to be healthy. Dr. Oz also gave an example of how he will look 30 years from now. There were two pictures he showed of himself. One is when he is living a healthy life and the other one is not. He said that the secret of having a younger looking face despite the age is to exercise and eat healthy. So I think I need to start hopping on the fitness equipment because I am really slacking in exercise department. I feel sluggish all the time and easily tired. I have to encourage myself to stay fit because I am not getting any younger :-)

Sunset

On Friday hubby came home early. He said that he will go to the hospital to visit one of his soldiers that was hospitalized due to a raptured appendix. We went to the hospital and afterwards we passed by his office to get his work laptop. On our way home I told him that we need to pass by the store and get milk for our DD. Before we went to Walmart we dropped home the laptop. While hubby opened the back door of the truck the sunset looked very nice. This is taken outside our unit.

Concert at the Mural

Saturday we had a great time even though it wasn't a planned outing. It was an impromptu drive to Seattle after lunch. There was a traffic that afternoon because of the football game between Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears. Seahawks won against the Bears :-) Anyway, we went to he waterfront and walk around Port of Seattle then went to Pike Place Public Market and then ended at the Seattle Center where there was a free concert going on. It was sponsored by KEXP FM radio in Seattle. I forgot who the singer was though. He's good and his songs are good too. We stayed there not for long because the concert was about to end. I heard on our local news that there will be series of summer concerts in downtown Seattle. Hope we live near there so we could watch and enjoy good music and food as well :-)

Donate

As always hubby made an impromptu escapade. After lunch he told me that we are going out for a drive. First we have to drop off some stuff that we don't need anymore to donate it to Goodwill then we will drive somewhere. So after I gave our DD her lunch we prepared to go out. We dropped off at Goodwill our bathroom metal rack organizer, coffee table, laundry rack, and two shoe racks. All are still in great conditions. There was a line at the drop off point so we waited a little bit. The bathroom rack sticks out of the truck and one lady who is also dropping off some stuff at Goodwill saw the rack and she asked us if we are going to donate it. Hubby said yes and then she asked if she can have it instead so we gave it to her. It was still very nice and no scratch at all but we just don't have the space to put it. The lady was very grateful and we're glad that we had it out of the way and it found somebody that will use it. This is our third time dropping off stuffs at Goodwill.

The Lucky 8 for Michael Phelps

The Beijing Olympics kicked off on 8:08:08 [August 8, 2008] at 8am and Michael Phelps got the historic 8th medal in Beijing making him the greatest Olympian. He is such an amazing swimmer and remain humble throughout crediting his teammates in reaching his goals. What makes him more great in his sport is that he can swim all the strokes and compete for each. He don't only specialize one stroke but four. He made 7 world record and 1 Olympic record, really a history in the making in the event of swimming and the Olympics as well. He is a brilliant swimmer indeed.

The funny thing is that I was really thinking that NBC will show it live from Beijing but hubby ruin the suspense when he told me that it was already done because he saw it on Yahoo. It does sucks! We are in the West Coast and we are 3 hours behind East Coast. They should play it earlier or not saying its LIVE when it is NOT. Oh well, I was still waiting for it and watch the great swimming relay that MP got his 8th! Congratulations to the Swimming Team USA!

Phone LookUp

Last night my phone rings and I did not know who called because it is an unknown number. How annoying. One time I thought it is an overseas call from my parents so I answered it. It's from some insurance company that sells car warranty. The thing is you can only the computer generated message that makes it more annoying. The moment I heard that computer message I immediately turn it off. The good thing is we can now check whose number is it through TraceNumber.com. This is a reverse phone number lookup service that will enable you to know who the owner's name and address. All the lookups are 100% secure and confidential so nobody will be notified if their number is being searched. This is available throughout the US and also in Canada.

Great Morning

Today is a great day here in our side of the earth :-) According to the forecast we will have a hot day. I know it will be scorchingly hot since there is a heat warning along the northwest. Anyways, I woke up not so early and I was able to do a lot of chores before I open up my computer. Me and our DD had an early shower and we took a short walk afterwards while we went to dumpster and threw our trash. It was a very cool outside and she like feeling the fresh air that when we get in the house I got a little protest. We have a lot of things lined up to be done this weekend including grocery shopping and some errands. We have to take advantage of the good weather also outside because fall is coming and it could get very cold here in our state.

Have a great weekend to everyone!

Leptovox Reviewed

I am very skeptical about all these diet pills in the market right now. Some are highly advertised but we don not really know if it is good for us or not. One that caught my attention is Leptovox. I believe this is a supplement that not only can loss weight but it is also anti aging. I read its review and accordingly it has a long list of anti oxidants as its ingredients that is why it is very good for weight loss and beautifying the skin. This supplement contains all the super foods that Dr. Perricone has been telling on Oprah's show. People who have taken it have testified that their energy level went up and they feel great. So I think I can suggest this to hubby because he is looking for supplement.

TGIF

TGIF, I believe, is the most used post title here in the blogsphere. Anyways, who wouldn't love Friday? This means weekend is coming and those who are working outside home will have time to relax and to SAHM like me we are looking forward for our hubby to be at home. For some weekend is also the time for family bonding. Some would just chill out at home and others would go out of town for a weekend getaway. So what are we going to do this weekend? I am not sure yet but hubby is saying we may drive to Seattle. We will see if we will be able to.

Women's All Around in Olympics 2008

{Photo Grabbed at Yahoo.com}

is swept by the USA gymnasts. Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson won the gold and silver medal of the Olympics respectively and the Chinese contender with the bronze. They have shown their best in the last routine beating the Chinese contender who was leading on the 1st and 2nd routine. Nastia Liukin is the daughter of Valerie Liukin who was an all around silver medalist in the Seoul Olympics competing for the Soviet Union 20 years ago. Now his daughter got the gold and I am very sure that he is a very proud father. Shawn Johnson on the other hand is really an amazing athlete. Amidst being such a young girl of 16 she is very precise performer and the last routine was superbly executed which put her to get the silver after her friend Nastia. They are both wonderful and talented young ladies.

My Favorite Sproutwells

Are you watching the sproutwells episode on you tube? This fruit and vegetable family is trying to work their way to fit in the lives of human beings. When the neighbor came by to welcome them in the neighborhood Mrs. Sproutwells threw up the welcome gift thinking it was her cousin. Though she did it she was sorry and humbly ask forgiveness. I like her attitude and I think we all can get a lesson through it. We should be respectful of our neighbors and it does really pays to be humble. The neighbor also is very nice because despite the sproutwells being different she welcome them in the community. It is a great picture seeing there is no discrimination and everybody is happy. I believe the mystery in this clips is that Fresh Funds wanted humans to love greens veggies and fruits to live healthy and happy.

Phelps Fever

Surely there is Michael Phelps fever all over the country right now. Every night a lot of people tuning on to NBC to watch the live telecast of the games from Beijing. Report from our local television monitors bars and restaurants during night time and people are tuning on the Olympic games. They are all talking about Michael Phelps. Then in swimming clubs kids wanted to be like him when they grow old. He became now the talk of the time being the most decorated Olympian in history. The swimming classes from different clubs doubled right now because even adults enrolled to learn the strokes Phelps is doing. Well, he is really an inspiration to everyone and he is most admired for his determination to excel in his sport.

Have you heard about Norman Steisel? I heard about him through an interview on Charlie Rose shown on You Tube. I learned that he is a talented senior executive with extensive private and public sector experience. He is the First Deputy Mayor of New York City which management skills was honed by the tough governance of New York. I learned also that he is the longest serving official in the 20th century serving as Commissioner of Sanitation in New York City from 1979 to 1986. He made bold innovative decisions as Sanitation Commissioner as well as succeeded in energizing of the Sanitation Department and save million dollars for the City of New York.

Aside from these accomplishments, Norman Steisel also has the investment banking experience wherein he served as an advisor. He helped in a lot in getting financing for different municipalities and counties project for environmental concerns. Mr. Steisel also became President and founded the EnEssCo Strategies, Inc., a firm that provides management and consulting services. Right now he is the Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Most Decorated Athlete

{Photo grabbed through gettyimages at Yahoo Sports}

Michael Phelps did it - become one of the most decorated Olympian in history. He is just incredible in his sport. When he had the race for 200m butterfly last night he won and got the gold as well as the gold record but he was a bit disappointed of his goggles. You can see at the end of the race where he took off his goggles right away and throw it on the sides. The goggle story was that the water sipped to his eyes filling the goggles. So for the last 50m of the race he was racing as if blindfolded. Despite that incident he still got the first place. He now has 11 gold medals on his neck for his game career and now known as the greatest Olympian.

Renowned Dermatologist

Even if the economy is going down right now but according to business reports aesthetic surgeons or dermatologists still get a lot of business. This is because more and more people are aware of how they can improve themselves. This is to develop more self confidence as well as the desire to stay young and attractive for long. Aside from aesthetic value it is also the means to stay healthy and well. In Waterloo, Iowa, a well known Dermatologist Martin Sands headed the best dermatology in the area. Their clinic is located at 20 Southbrooke Drive, Waterloo, Iowa 50702 and they have clinics and offices also in the whole of Cedar Valley for easy access of their clients.

My only take on this is that if you are contemplating of getting help to improve your physical beauty, you need to go to a renowned dermatologist like Martin Sands so you will know that you are in a good hands. There are lots of doctors that engages in this business and you don't want that instead of beautifying yourself it will only be jeopardized. Make sure to check that your dermatologist is licensed or certified and the clinic they operate has business permit. You also check the hospital affiliations and trainings in this field. Dr. Martin Sands has all the qualifications you need to know so if you are in the area you can check them out.

Tallest Woman Died

{Photo grabbed from Yahoo}

I am not fond of reading the book of Guinness World Record but accordingly the woman listed as the tallest woman in the world, Sandy Allen, died on Wednesday at age 53.

She was born 6 1/2 lbs but grew tall. Accordingly, she has a tumor that caused her pituitary gland to produce too much growth hormone. She underwent an operation in 1977 to stop further growth. I think what she had was called gigantism.

China's Ancient Warrior

Have any of you seen the footage of NBC about the ancient terracotta warrior of China that was being unearthed by a farmer? Accordingly, the ancient warrior dated back to the First Emperors leadership. It surely is a great archaeological find. The archaeologist who curate those wonderful sculpture made of clay said that so far they found 7 generals from among the buried masterpieces. Some are broken into pieces and they are trying to piece each one together that will take a year to fully recover it. I think it is a must see when you go to China.

White Rice or Brown Rice

When we consulted a nutritionist for our DD's diet she said that I can give her brown rice because it is rich in fiber. Typical Filipina that I am I always buy white rice. So I made a switch and tried brown rice. At first I don't like it since it is coarse for me. Then later on I like it more and since then I always buy brown rice already.

Brown rice is still the same rice that we ate except that its bran is still intact. This is why its called whole grain. Being rich in fiber it is good for our diet. We need fiber in our diet everyday and brown rice is one good source of it.

Free Diminished Value Estimate

It is very hard if you get into a car accident because your car value will surely go down. My friend who lives in Alabama has a son who just has his own car. He got into an accident and his insurance surely went up and the car's value went down. She was thinking of having it re-estimated for its value. I told her about advocateautoclaims.com because they offer services of estimating the diminished value of your car for free. They are an advocate to get the claim you deserved and is right for you. So if you just got into an accident and you want to know what's your car's value is now you can go to their site and simply get your free estimate.

The Best Swimming Relay of All Times in Olympics

I was watching the the 4x100 meter freestyle relay men division of the Olympics and boy I agree that it was the best relay ever I've seen. The USA team won the gold medal and setting a new world record. The France team whom is considered are the fastest freestyle swimmer was beaten by the USA by only a fraction of a second. The hero of the relay is Jason Lezak, the team captain of the relay and who raced the last against Alain Bernard of France. The team France was leading the race but Lezak was able to pull through taking the lead of 46.06 which is a new world record. With this winning Michael Phelps got his 8th Olympic gold. Thanks to his teammate Lezak his quest for the 10th gold is seemingly near and his hope is kept alive. Kudos to team USA.

Sunday Family Time

It's Sunday again and of course for me it is time for family. We went to church this morning and it was a good service. Afterwards we just went home right away because the weather is not that nice to go out. We went to the mall yesterday so I think we just stay home and chill today.

Last night I slept very late because I watched Summer Olympics coverage on NBC. As I have said previously here that US vs Venezuela in volleyball and they have a head to head game but USA won the last set making it 3-2. I am glad the USA won and Stanley was the best player of that game. They will be facing Italy next and I hope they win again.

Furniture Covers

Since summer is about to end I am looking for an outdoor furniture covers that I need for our outdoor furniture. I am looking for something that fits for fall and winter design. I know I need one that is durable and can withstand the changing temperature especially here in our place where it can get really cold during those times. I already see online one that I think will do. I still am looking for other options though. My husband told me to get it in one of the stores nearby but I don't know I still prefer to look online because I know I will find good deals through the net.

Volleyball

I am watching right now the live telecast of the Olympic games and the game is volleyball USA versus Venezuela. USA won the first two sets. In the 3rd and 4th set Venezuela caught up and they came back strong. They will be playing the tie breaker 5th set. USA team should be more precise and avoid faults so they will win the game. Venezuelan are doing great in their play. They are on fire and communicates in their every move. This is the last set and I hope USA wins. I like volleyball that is why I am still up right now watching it :-)

New Laptop

I really need to replace my laptop since I have this for more than 4 years now and it's getting slower and slower. There are so many files that are stored here that makes it run slowly. If I will get a new one I am looking at Sony Vaio. I like it's sleek and trendy appearance and it has cool features also. I have to save more moolah too in order for me to get the laptop of my dreams. Hubby told me to get something cheaper but still very good in terms of its usability. I know I should be practical but then if I get it and it's not the one I like then I will not be happy with it. So I will just wait for a little more time and then I get the new laptop that I really like.

Cleaning Our Closet

Since we got back from vacation I only had the chance to clean our closet today. When my husband ironed all our clothes he hanged everything including my house clothes and shorts. If I do it I only hang our clothes for going out and folded those that we use at home and our pajamas. When he hangs it he just hang it freestyle :-) and I find it tacky so I redid it. I arranged it according to colors and separated the short sleeves from the long sleeves one. He said that I am so meticulous but I just don't like looking at a topsy turvy closet. We have a small closet so we need all the space to fit in everything. If it is not organize the more it will look smaller. I hope we can keep it this way for longer.

Guide for Credit Card Applications

I remember the first time I received a credit card application in the mail I was excited. Later on I got annoyed because it just junked up our mailbox. I think all of us know that we should not fall on those invitations to apply because they have catch into it. That is why if you apply credit cards you should look for the best guide. At credit-cards-guide.net they have the list of different credit cards there is that you can choose. You can also apply online for best credit cards through them. There are so many credit cards guide in the internet but you need to go to the one you can trust.

This site is the best one to go to apply for credit card because they categorized credit cards according to bad or good credit; credit cards with rewards or points system like gas, hotel, airlines credit cards; credit cards by banks; and the all time the best credit cards that offers zero balance transfer, low APR, no annual fee, and instant approval. You only have to choose from among the categories that fit for you and you will be directed to the page. They also have extensive resources about credit cards and other services. So if you are thinking of getting one check them now. Always remember though to use your credit card wisely.

Nippy Summer

We planned of going out this morning but the weather forecast is not good. Accordingly there will be rain showers in our area. After we dressed up to go out it started raining so we did not go. We watched televised Olympic games. I watched the women's volleyball USA vs. Japan. I did not know who won because I put our tiny one to sleep. When she woke up it was time for lunch and I have to feed her. This seem like a never ending routine, eh? :-) Well, anyways if it is not nippy outside we could have been somewhere enjoying our day.

Credit Cards and Newborns

When we got married we already plan of having a family right away. We plan of having a child on our first year but the blessing did not come until after almost three years of being married. We were very ecstatic and anxiously waiting for our little one to be in our arms. While waiting for us to conceive we already know that our life would be different and even we prepare for the arrival of family addition, still it seems like our preparation is not enough. There are so much to consider. Our expenses went up and as we promised that we should not use our credit card but some situations calls for it. Although I made sure that having credit cards and newborns will not affect us in our quest to maintain a good credit score.

I read this article about how to maintain your good credit at credit-score.org and it is really very enlightening. They offer services also to those who want to check their credit score. I read on their site some valuable insights. Like before we plan for having another addition to our family we should consider many things. If we want to give our future kids good life we have to be prepared. There should be a plan and most of all we should be prepared, emotionally and financially. I can say that in my experience I have some things that I should not be doing but I did and I am hoping I will be able to correct it when time comes that we will have another child

Bubba Gump

One of our favorite seafood restaurant is Bubba Gump. When we were in San Francisco we went to one at Pier 39. The wait wasn't that long though even if the place was so packed. We were seated near the window and we can see at our vantage the Alcatraz and the ocean. We had a great dinner and then when we got out I saw this bench that resembles the seat where Forest Gump sat down in the movie complete with this big shoes and the box of chocolate on the side. It's cute :-)

Jelly Belly Bean Art Work

What amazed me when we went for a Jelly Belly factory tour was looking at these art works {picture above} in their jelly belly bean gallery where they uses jelly bean to create portrait of famous personalities. It is very laborious for sure combining all the colors of different flavor of jelly belly bean and create a masterpiece. In the picture above was the portrait of George Washington, the first US President whose portrait made using jelly belly bean and Ronald Reagan who always have a bowl of jelly belly bean on his table at the White House.

Winner of So You Think You Can Dance

One of my favorite reality tv show 'So You Think You Can Dance' had its finale last night and I was right in my prediction that Joshua and Katee will be the emerging top female and male dancer. Ever since the top 10 pairs were competing I found them together as the strong contender. They executed their routine splendidly and they capture the magic of dancing on the stage. They have the chemistry and they are both passionate in what they are doing. For Joshua even if he don't have the formal training of the dances being thrown at them but he can execute it as if he had been dancing it all his life. He is strong and can do different dances professionally. Congratulations to both of them for emerging as the top male and female dancers of SYTYCD Season 4.

Jelly Belly

One of the pride of Fairfield, California is the Jelly Belly factory. There is a free tour of the factory everyday from 9am to 5pm. Since we were already there I told hubby that we have to check it out before we go home. We arrived there around 11am already and there was a long line. We were informed that it could take an hour of waiting before it will be our turn to tour around.

The factory is pretty nice and clean. We were shown its history and the process of how jelly belly is being made. They have art work display of different personality which is made up of jelly belly which I think is really cool and creative. Including in the art work is then Pres. Reagan, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and many others. I enjoyed the tour and we got samples at the end.

After the tour we had lunch at the restaurant where they served sandwiches and pizza in a jelly bean shape. The kids would really enjoy it. They have some fun stuff too inside the factory and you can buy truck load sale of jelly belly in their store. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun.

Back to School Must-have

It's back to school again and for sure our students are very eager and excited to be in class. I remember every time school starts I am so excited to have back to school shopping. Although my parents don't buy as a lot of clothes but they will buy us school supplies, books, and other arts supply. When I was in high school I was glad that we wear uniform. It helps since I wore my uniform from first year until fourth year. I only have it altered a little bit to fit me every school year. I love going to school because I love doing school activities and be with my close friends too. I was a band member too and I love to play in the school band.

Another most exciting part of being at school is having your school things. I remember that I do have a lot of art supplies before that I cannot track anymore because I don't properly label it. I wish I was able to have these Dymo Color labels it would have been easy for me to sort my things and avoid losing it. When in school with a lot of students sometimes it's hard for you to always track where your things are especially if someone wants to borrow it. Now I know what I should get to label school and office supplies. The Color labels will make things very visible and different from the rest.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA

One of the places we went to see while we were in San Francisco is the famous Golden gate Bridge. It is one of the must-sees if you are visiting in the area. I usually see this famous gate in movies especially on X-Men where it was being lifted to connect to the Alcatraz :-) We drove through there when there was still light. I asked hubby to stay there for a little while because I want to see the bridge light lit up.

This bridge was named as the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was opened in 1937 but right now 8 more suspension bridges surpasses its length. The man behind its construction was Joseph Strauss whose statue was erected near the bridge. This bridge spans the Golden Gate, the opening of San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. It connects San Francisco to the northern tip of San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County, Ca. (source Wikipedia)

Accordingly that this bridge is one of the most photographed bridge in the world as well as the Tower Bridge in London, UK.

Outcast Speaker

I haven't met a person yet who do not like music. Both me and my husband are music lovers. As a matter of fact we always have music on when we go to sleep or when we are driving and especially when we have get together with friends and family. There are times though that I would hate it when we are outside and we need to use a long cord just to bring out music speakers out so everybody can hear the music. I am very glad that this issue can now be eliminated because Outcast speaker is being invented.

This speaker is a blast and because of its great functionality Sean "P Diddy" Combs had purchased four of it to blast his parties. This speaker offers clarity as crystal and its even wireless and water-resistant which is really very appropriate for the outdoors. You will be able to connect your MP3 player, IPod, computer and television to it. This is really gold to all music lovers such as us. If you need a speaker I can say that this is the right one for you. Visit their site now and see more of what Outcast speaker has to offer.

Boudin

While walking along the port of San Francisco we saw this bakery called Boudin, correct me if I am wrong, that you can see from the outside how they make gourmet bread. They make all types of bread that you can see on their display. They also made this big bread that shapes like crab, teddy bear, lobster, shrimp and many others.

Above is another of their display, a very big bread shaped like a crocodile. It is huge. Very nice and so creative.

Port of San Francisco

Our long wait in California for our flight going to Hawaii wasn't wasted because we were able to visit San Francisco. I was very excited since I only heard it through stories from friends as well as on tv and movies and now I will be able to see the place. Since it was already late when we went there we only visited the bay area such as their port/pier, the famous Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, the strip of Embarcadero and the Golden Gate Bridge. Above are some of the pictures we took while we were there.

Enjoying the Beach

Early in the morning the next day when we got to Hawaii I woke up hubby so we can go to the beach early. But as you know we have our DD and we need to get breakfast first, we were able to be at the beach around 9am.

Waikiki Beach is just around the corner where we stay so we walked going there and there were only few people and the sand sparkles devoid of trash whatsoever. It was very beautiful to see. We just laid down our beach towel and had our DD play with the waves and sand. We did not let her stay long under the sun because I wasn't sure what her reaction will be since it was her first time. The pictures above are some of the actions we took while we were there.

Sea Fair and DMV Appointment

There is sea fair today in Seattle and yesterday we are thinking of going. Unfortunately we woke up late and I have to go back to the DMV to have my driver's license changed from Georgia to Washington. We went there yesterday but we forgot to bring proof of residence so I decided to come in today since they are open Saturdays. We got there around noon time and had my license changed. I have now the temporary one and have to wait for up 2o days for the actual license from the mail. I am glad that it is already taken cared of.

Back to Seafair, I know it is gonna be fun and the Blue Angels have an air show for two days starting today and culminates tomorrow. I really love to go there but tomorrow will be church day and hubby has to go to church early since he signed up for membership at the church and there is a short orientation for new members. I guess I have to wait next year for it since I heard that they always have air show every year.

Controversial Pill

I think if you think about a diet pill you can say that once these pills went through a controversial stage because finding ways to lose weight is something associated to people's lifestyle. There is one controversial diet pill, the Fenterdren, that I think until now is still subject to many discussions and debates about its effects. This has hardcore fat burning ingredients that a lot of users are looking for in a diet pill. It is just a warning though that before you take any kind of weight loss pill you must first consult your physician and have to follow whatever its usage directions to prevent from having negative effects on you.

California Haircut

We were in Solano shopping mall in Fairfield, Ca when I decided to have haircut. I have been meaning to have it cut while we are still here but I just didn't find the time. So I decided to go inside Master Cuts in that mall. I was waiting for a few minutes while hubby and our DD went for a walk around the mall. Then a lady that I presumed work there came in from her break. She called my name and told me she will do my hair. She asked me if I am Filipina and I said yes. She is also a Filipina. I believe she is in her 40s. We talked in Tagalog since she is from Luzon. It was nice to have somebody from Philippines that does my hair again after almost 4 years. I just had my hair shorten and layered.

The pictures above shows my before and after hair. I wasn't able to get a good picture of it because it was an impromptu decision to have my haircut :-)
