Tackling the Laundry

I did our laundry on Friday. But this morning when I checked our laundry hamper it was full again. I am planning of just tackling the laundry once a week but I guess it will not work. I don't like looking at a hamper bursting with too much clothes. It will also take most of my time in a day when I am going to wash and dry it. So I am now revising my plan of washing clothes on Saturdays and Wednesdays. This way I will not spend more time washing, drying and folding clothes. I do two loads of washing and two in drying every time I do it. If I do it all on Saturdays I will have to allot more hours waiting for my laundry to be done. I wash our DD's clothes separately from ours and hers also consist of two loads, one for colored clothes and one for whites. Hubby told me that he's amazed that even when doing the laundry I need to have a strategy :-) Well, I think I have to so I can manage my time properly and do what I needed to do. I will feel better also if everything is in order.

Follow Me

Before, I only joined one social network and it's friendster. Then came myspace, facebook, plurk and twitter. I made an account with myspace but I wasn't that interested. When facebook was announced I checked it out and did not pursue on it until recently. I heard a lot of television programs that are on facebook and some of my friends are into it so I joined the bandwagon. I created an account just a few months ago and now I am so into it as well. Early last year when I heard about twitter I also made my own account. I had a hard time figuring out what to do with it so I did not mind it at all. And just recently also I activated my account again and start twittering. The twitter-mania is big now and twitter-land is expanding like a pangea. Honestly even if I started my account last year but I only got to enjoy using it now. I started to build followers and I am also following people that I find very interested. It is fun and I get to read real time infos and news from different sources/people. This is fun and cool and you can follow me @blessie.

Talking to My Family in Philippines

Yesterday we were all over the place again. When hubby decided to go inside Walmart I told him that me and our DD will just stay inside the truck since it was raining. So while waiting for him I called my Mom in the Philippines. It was Tuesday morning in Pinas and my Mom told me that my sister is there from Davao. She also brought her first grandchild (in-picture). She is 19 months old now. Our DD is three months older than her. My Mom told me that even if she is still 19 months old she is already very talkative. I was able to talk to her and true enough she talks like a big kid already. She even sung to me "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", the alphabet, "Happy Birthday Song" and "Pen-Pen de Sarapen". She did not only memorize the lyrics but she sung it in tune too.

On the contrary with our DD, she talks but her vocabulary is not that extensive yet. I know babies develop differently but I am also wishing that she can converse to me clearly of what she wanted. But nevertheless, I am very proud of her for trying to speak even if she is the only one who can understand what she is talking about most of the time :-) I am so looking forward to see my family back in Philippines and also see my first grandchild :-) My parents and siblings are also very excited to see my husband and our DD. Hopefully our vacation plan will push through.

Out and About

We were out most of the afternoon today. It is Friday and we were hoping it's going to be sunny but unfortunately it was raining heavily. Our first destination was the college. I went there to get my books at the bookstore. It was raining cats and dogs and I walked from one building to another to process my paper works. But it was all worth it since I was able to have my books and I did not pay a dime. From the college we went on post at the Children and Youth Services to inquire about day care for our DD. There will be times that hubby will not be at home to take care of her while I go to school. To prepare for those days we need to find somebody or a day care provider that we can trust. Hubby filled up the papers needed and we are told to wait for their call within two business days. Hopefully we will be able to hear from them on Wednesday. After the CYS hubby went to his office to pick up something and then we dropped off his suits for dry cleaning. Since it was almost dinner time we decided to stop by at the Filipino restaurant. We had dinner there and I bought some Filipino foodies for take home. While in the restaurant I had a call of nature and went inside their restroom. It was my first time using their restroom and I am impressed. They have Asian-inspired decor inside and a vanity with double undermount sink that looks very elegant. It was very clean too. We may have a tiring day but I was glad I was able to replenish my energy with some Filipino dishes :-)

I Need to Get Away

My mind is in turmoil right now that I think I need to get away. There are just too many goings on and I am just going with the flow. I suggested to my husband to check out for beach vacation rentals that we can consider to go for a vacation to recoup this coming spring. My body, mind and soul felt exhausted. I need to rest and I feel that the ocean breeze is perfect for me to breathe in. I am looking at the beaches in South Carolina for a possible place to go. We can hit two birds with one stone when we decided to go there. We can have the vacation as well as see relatives before hubby leave for deployment. Although we needed to do a lot of things here but I am pretty sure we can squeeze in this much needed vacation. For now I will just have to take it easy and process everything one step at a time. God is good and I know He will always be here for us.

Tragic Death of Natasha Richardson

(Photo grabbed from Yahoo)
A tragic loss for showbiz in Hollywood by the untimely passing of a great actress Natasha Richardson, wife of actor Liam Neeson. Richardson died after experiencing a fall during her ski lesson in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. She left behind apart from her husband, their two sons and the rest of her family. You can read more of the story at this Yahoo news.

I saw two of her films "The Parent Trap" as Mom of Lindsay Lohan and also the movie "Maid in Manhattan" with Jennifer Lopez. It's very sad to know about her unexpected demise.
May her soul rest in peace.

Pregnancy Concerns

As I have said before that during my first pregnancy I did not have any problems at all. As a first timer though I have a lot of concerns about being pregnant but I was assured by my health care provider that I am doing great. Now that I am pregnant again, it is somewhat different. I experience things that I did not experience before. Aside from the morning sickness, now I have concern about spotting. I already mentioned it to the nurse practitioner during my in-take appointment and based on what I told her she said that I need to have the lab tests done and if I feel that the spotting increases over time or it will not stop I need to notify them right away. Since it has been a week already that it didn't occur when I had that appointment so I thought it is alright.

Yesterday we had a very busy day. When I was ready to go to bed I went to the loo and noticed again the spotting. I did not feel any cramping though. This morning I had it again and I even told hubby that I will go to the ER if it becomes worst. I researched online about bleeding during pregnancy and I found out this information below from

"Vaginal bleeding can occur frequently in the first trimester of pregnancy and may not be a sign of problems. But bleeding that occurs in the second and third trimester of pregnancy can often be a sign of a possible complication. Bleeding can be caused by a number of reasons."

I am now in my first trimester of pregnancy and I am hoping that this is not a sign of any problems. I will just take a good rest or bed rest for this weekend and then on Monday I will definitely go to the clinic and see my healthcare provider since they allow walk in for any emergencies. For the time being I am monitoring my spotting if it will occur again and if it get worst.

Maternity Lingerie

We were at the mall this afternoon and I was browsing around. We passed by a lingerie store and I decided to take a peek. I asked the sales person if they have maternity lingerie and she told me they have some but not as much choices. They're waiting for their shipment for the month and hopefully there will be stocks in that shipment. Honestly hubby bought me lingerie but I don't wear it often. I think I just wore it twice and that's it. He asked me why I am not wearing it and I replied I don't feel comfortable in it. I prefer the regular ones and when I go to sleep I wear pajamas or shorts. I don't even wear a house dress coz I feel I can't move quick in it. Now that I am pregnant I guess I need to make some adjustments. If my tummy gets bigger I needed to wear big size clothing, may it be a house dress or maternity lingerie. I think I will have to make a mental note to get use to it now so when that time comes I will be comfortable wearing. I may have to visit a maternity clothing store and start looking for what I need.

Busy Friday the 13th

We had a very busy day today. We got out of the apartment after lunch and we were all over the place. Our first stop was the hospital. I had my laboratory tests today; blood drawn and urine test. I would say that the Phlebotomist drew a lot of blood from me earlier that I felt my hands tingling since I had a tourniquet in my upper arm and not much blood runs through my palms. After the blood drawn I had to submit my urine as well. Hubby just dropped me off at the hospital and him and our DD went to his office to get something.

From the hospital we headed to the education center. I checked out my Heroes at Home - Military Spouse Career Advance Account if I can still receive financial aid for my continuing education. I am very glad that I am still covered and so I signed the voucher that will pay for my tuition this quarter. We then headed to the college to enroll. I was able to enroll two classes and when I checked out the cashier she said I am good to go and I don't have to pay for anything.

After school we headed to our cable provider to replace the cable box with a DVR. We had our cable subscription changed. We're eligible to avail of their promo that has lower monthly fee. At least we can save some money from it. It was a quick exchange and so we then headed to the mall which is just near the cable place. We had our early dinner at the food court and afterwards we browsed around. We didn't stay long since we needed to go to the grocery store. We had our last stop at Target and decided to get what we need there and then we headed home. I am super tired right now but I needed to finish one task that will expire today :-)

No Need to Loss Weight

Before we learned that we are expecting, I thought of trying to enroll in a gym to lost weight. When I had the pregnancy test in January and the result was negative I was planning to go to the nearest fitness center to ask about their rates. Me and hubby already discussed about it and he give me a go signal. But something was keeping me from doing so. I told myself I will wait until my menstrual cycle comes back to really make sure I am not pregnant. So I waited until the next month. When I did the test again and it came out positive, I was really thankful that I did not go to the fitness center and start a regime. I think a mother's instinct kicked in on me and subconsciously telling me not to do any rigorous exercise because there is a little angel growing inside me. So for now I will just do exercise fit for pregnant woman. But for those that think of losing weight, check out the best weight loss pills online at You can either resort to pills or do an exercise routine. Just make sure that you consult your physician before you take anything or do exercise. For me right now, I needed to boost my energy to have a healthy pregnancy and increase my calorie intake to gain weight and not loss any.

Flip-Flop Bachelor

Have you followed this reality tv show The Bachelor? Honestly, I once watched one episode but I didn't have that much interest in it. Then I heard from the news that the single Dad bachelor Jason Mesnick from here in my state of Washington dumped her fiance on national television after just having proposed to her. And added salt to the injury, he flip-flop on his decision by taking back the other lady whom he did not pick first. How could one do it? IMHO if he is in love with Molly in the first place he should have proposed to her instead of Melissa to spare Melissa of the humiliation in the national television. I am not sure of what the television show is trying to stage up but he could have followed his heart rightly by proposing t0 Molly since he said he love her more than Melissa. Well, I'm glad I did not follow the show since it's just full of fakeness for me. Accordingly, for all the bachelors that went through this reality show nobody ended up living happily ever after and correct me if I am wrong, I watched on Showbiz Tonight and they said nobody ended up getting married in the Bachelor. Hmmm... I wonder why?

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

My youngest sister got married on October 2005 and since then they have been trying to conceive. I know they will become great parents when they will be blessed with kids. Last month when I called my family and told them of the news that we are again expecting, my sister told me that she is hoping she is pregnant too since she was already two months delayed. She also told me that she is feeling different. But since she has this history of delayed cycle, she did not bank on it. Although honestly she said that she hopes she is pregnant. But after few days that we talked, I texted her and asked of any news and so she told me she is disappointed because she is not pregnant and she had her menstrual cycle. If I am in her shoes I will be disappointed too. I told her not to lose hope and eventually she will be blessed. My bestfriend back in the Philippines is now and OB-Gyne and I told my sister to go to her. She can do the work up and help in fertility. Hopefully when she starts the work up it will have a positive result.
