Electronics Sale

Last day when hubby called me he mentioned about possible out of state training again. I just roll my eyes because even if I don't like it I have to suck it up since it is part of his duty. While we were talking he mentioned about getting a new laptop. My laptop is already gone as in dead :-) It cannot be fixed anymore and his laptop is as slow as a snail. He want to get a new one so he can bring it wherever his training will be. He asked me to browse online for electronic sale. I know at this time where stores are competing to get business with, we can find a lot of sales and great deals from retailers. I think if you are planning of buying electronics and other goods it is best to browse online and compare and take advantage of coupon codes as well as their free shipping offer. I found a good and affordable laptop at buy.com and I may have to tell hubby to check it out too if he'll like it.

Tidbits

This post is a little bit of everything :-) that happened to us these past few days.

First off, I already mentioned in my confessions that we are expecting. It's a great blessing that me and hubby are so happy to have. We planned that since we still wanted to have another one, why not have it now that I am still staying at home and raising our eldest. Their age gap will be around two years so they will still be considered as playmate while growing up. When they're both going to school then I can concentrate on continuing the career that I really want. We are looking forward to once again hold a little one in our arms.

(KC and Sweet)
On the other hand, I am also happy to know that one of my nieces (KC), cousin's daughter, in the Philippines passed the Nursing Licensure Exam. I am proud of her and thankful to God that she passed. My other niece, sister's daughter (Sweet) who is also a nurse is now on her way to Riyadh to work as a Nurse in one of the hospitals there. This is her first time to be away from the family. She will be leaving behind her husband and little daughter. It is really a sacrifice that she has to do to give her family a good life. I hope and pray that God will always be with her and protect her every single day. I also pray that she will have a safe travel and arrive in her destination sound. The good thing is that she is going to Riyadh with her bestfriend in college. They will both work in the same hospital so she will not be that homesick and lonely. God bless to all of my nieces who are trying their best to have a good life.

If Only

If only we have wood flooring it will be happy days for me every day. We live in an apartment and we have carpeted floor all over except the kitchen, bathroom and little area at the entrance. If you have a toddler in the house I'm sure you can relate to me. Before hubby left he cleaned our carpet and had it steam cleaned as well. Every single day since hubby left, that was 10 days ago, I vacuum the floor to get rid of our DD's food spills and other small debris from her daily activities. What is getting into me is cleaning the stains all the time because I can't stand looking at it. Sometimes I have to wait for couple of days to tackle it since I know she will mess it up again during her meals. I think this is the downside of having a carpeted floor and having a toddler. I tried to feed her by myself for less mess but I need to train her to become more independent. And you know when toddlers eat by themselves, expect the food to be all over the place. What is funny when she eats and her hands become dirty, she will tell me "dirty" and wants it wiped. If I am not fast enough she will fleck it and there goes the food on the floor making the carpet stained (chuckle).

It Was Snowing

We woke up kinda late this morning. Hubby called me around 6pm but went back to sleep after we talked. I didn't know that it was snowing. Every morning since hubby left I always bring our DD to the window and let her peek outside. I was shocked when I opened the blinds and saw the ground blanketed with snow. I blurted 'oh my' to my amazement and DD was also saying 'owwww'. Yesterday it was a fine day and then this morning it was like a snow storm passed by. I think it was snowing very early in the morning since the snow on the ground was already thick. I waited for it to stop so I can go to the store to get some stuff but the snow came down hard until around 3pm. When hubby called again I told him about the snowy situation and he laughed at me because I was praying before he left hoping it will not snow again but it snowed so I will be stuck in the house until the snow melts. Well, I am confident that we got supplies even if it will be snowing for days. I was thinking not to go out and just get our mails tomorrow but I know our DD will be happy to see or walk in the snow. So I put on her snow suit. Indeed she was very happy to walk outside even if it was freezing. At least she was able to breathe fresh winter air again. Unfortunately I wasn't ablt to get a picture of her since hubby brought the camera with him.

Of Tree Planting

I remember back in the Philippines that we always accompany our parents to our farm. We helped them in tree planting, harvest fruits and vegetables and tend to some of our farm animals. I kind of missed doing it. Our life back there is laid back and easy going and it felt good to be with your family. I know I can still do it when I go back there and give them a visit. Here in the US I have been dreaming of owning a good piece of land so I can also plant trees, flowers and vegetables. It is a good thing to have your own garden and cook veggies from your own backyard. If ever this will come true I would definitely plant some trees such as Mulberry trees, Palm trees and other fruit bearing trees aside from flowering plants and vegetables. I know I have a green thumb and I only need a piece of land to exercise it. My mother taught us how to garden and take care of plants and I am hoping in the future I can also teach my kids the same.

Thank you Cel for giving me such a wonderful recognition.

Filipino Store Trip

We just got back from having dinner at a Filipino restaurant here in our area. I learned of this restaurant and store before but it was our second time to go there. When hubby called me that he is on his way home, he asked me that he can take me out for dinner. I cooked rice and thawed chicken but was very lazy to cook something so I said yes. The restaurant will close at 7pm and hubby arrived home almost 6pm. Me and our DD were already dressed so we just waited for him to change. We got to the restaurant 6:30pm. There were only two people eating and some are waiting for their take out. We had barbeque chicken, pork sinigang, and bistek (beef steak). Hubby like their bistek a lot that he asked me to get a take out.

After eating I bought some Filipino goodies. I got Goldilock's siopao, sardines, Mang Tomas sauce, lucky me pancit canton, chicken tocino, and other goodies :-) I was wondering why they don't have Knorr Magic Sarap here. I've been looking for it in every Filipino store that we can go to but I can't find it here. I heard that it can really make your food tasteful. Kris Aquino, one of the famous stars in the Philippine showbiz, is endorsing the product. I hope I can find it here one day. When we got out of the store hubby then teased me that getting the goodies made my day :-) Of course, it's not all the time I can eat the food that I used to eat back in the Philippines.

Affordable Vegas Vacation

A friend of mine who lives in Minnesota told me they just came back from their vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada. She narrated to me their getaway and seemed like they had a great time. She mentioned about vegasvacationstore.com where they bought cheap ticket prices for different shows in Vegas. One of the shows they watched that she enjoyed was the Blue Man group at the Venetian. She emailed to me some of their pictures and I am jealous :-) When I checked out the site not only you can find cheap tickets but also affordable packages for Vegas vacations. You can find prices for hotel accommodation at Planet Hollywood that start at $149 for two days and three nights plus $100 in casino chips or $100 in dining certificate. This is not bad at all. So, if you are planning to have a grand Vegas vacation without damaging much your pocket, check this site now. I am glad my friend told me about this wonderful information.

Biggest Loser and American Idol

Last night me and hubby were flipping the channel between American Idol and Biggest Loser. We like to watch both shows. Last night's episode of BL the partners who just got back in the ranch had their first weigh in. I am impressed with others that lost big numbers while being at home for 30 days, others just had a minimal weight lost. I was sad when the silver team was voted out because Carla, Joelle's partner who just got back in the ranch, did a great job in working out so they can stay. Unfortunately her partner Joelle did not do as much. She did not lost a single pound. She seemed like having an an attitude problem. She is very inconsiderate in letting her partner down. But I am still hoping that even though they were already out they can continue to loss weight and achieve their goals.

On the other hand, in American Idol, I did not agree with Simon and Randy giving the "bikini girl" another chance. I don't know, but I don't like her voice. Although she is not out of tune but her voice is not for a star quality. I heard other contestants who sang better than her but were not able to get through. I think if they want to set the high standard of choosing the next top singer they should be consistent. It is unfair to others with good voice but did not wear bikini during audition.

Do You Wear Eyeglasses?

When I was in elementary I wished that I can wear eyeglasses. I like to take my Mom's eyeglasses and wear it. I felt like I am a grown up and it felt so cool wearing one. Even when I was in high school I was so envious of my friends who are wearing eyeglasses. I believe my penchant for it faded when I was in college and told myself that I am lucky that I have good eyesight and don't need eyeglasses. Looking back now, I just laughed at it. Although I know later on I may have to use eyeglasses. My Mom is wearing it ever since I can remember. Then my two older sisters and my brother are also wearing one now. But if ever I have to, I know I can find good designs and inexpensive ones in the internet. Just like this eyeglasses at LBW eyeglasses at lbweyewear.com.

Superbowl XLIII Final - Steelers Won!

(Photo Grabbed from Yahoo)

In our household we are divided. Hubby is for Steelers and I am for Cardinals. I was betting for the underdog :-) As what they said, it is a Cinderella story. It's the first time Cardinals will play in Superbowl. They may have a not so good games during the playoffs but I bet they gave the Steelers a hard time in this 43rd Superbowl.

Indeed, the game was the best I've seen in Superbowl. I have been here in the US for more than 4 years and this is the 4th time I watched Superbowl. History was being made when Harrison of Steelers intercepted a supposed to be goal for Cardinals and did the 100 yards TD. Because of that super TD it widen the lead of 17 to 7 favoring the Steelers. I was jumping literally when Cardinals made a come back gaining 16 points giving them the lead of 3 points. If it not for the TD of Holmes a good possibility that Cardinals will win. I bet they will tighten their defense so Steelers can't score during those last seconds. That made the game more unpredictable. Both teams were on the edge even the remaining time is below a minute. It was suspenseful. Even the Cardinals lost but they played real hard and they deserved to be applauded for what they displayed on this 43rd Superbowl.
