Tree Climbing is Fun

When I was young one of the things I enjoyed was tree climbing, picking fruits. I don't know why but it seems like we were not scared of climbing and some of my friends can even climb coconut trees with nothing, just gliding to the top stepping on to the cut sides of the tree. I know my kids cannot experience those kinds of activity as there are no fruit trees near us. And here I noticed, especially those professionals that cut trees, they use arboricultural products and gears. Only those who are prepared and really have all the gears are allowed to cut trees that are very high. It is important for safety. I saw these gears at SherrilTree online.

This is why when my husband thought of putting up Christmas lights, I told him he don't have the necessary safety gears to climb to our roof and hang the lights. Although we do have a ladder but I still am not comfortable of him climbing up that high. I guess next time I need to look into climbing gears to prepare for the next Christmas in hanging our lights up from our roof. It would be fun to just climb but we have to ensure safety first.

Delhi Monitors Compliance to Blanket Ban on Polybags

In a move to go green and reduce the amount of plastic wastes in the city the Delhi government approved a new blanket ban on the use, manufacture and sale of Polybags in November 2012 as written in the Environment Protection Act 1986. According to the law, violations would result to up to 5 years of imprisonment or a fine of up to one lakh rupee. The blanket ban was initially focused on plastic Polybags while focus on plastic packaging and plastic materials would be done later.

This decision to impose a blanket ban on the use of Polybags was undertaken at the Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. This ban came a day after the government decided to ban gutkha products in Delhi. The ban not only covered Polybags it also covers the use of plastic pouches used to wrap magazines cards and other materials.

A previous ban on the use of plastics was enforced by the Delhi local government back in 2009 which was imposed upon shop owners and malls around the city. However this ban did not produce the desired result. With this new initiative the Delhi government is strengthening its resolve to reduce the manufacture and sale as well as use of plastic in order to reduce plastic wastes which are often seen littering Delhi's streets and clogging its waterways.

Significance of the Ban
With the blanket ban no person in Delhi will be allowed to use carry Polybags made of recycled or compostable plastic and no sellers and shopkeepers will be allowed to sell store or use plastic bags. No person is also allowed to use plastic wrapping for books or magazines and greeting cards.

Monitoring Efforts
On December 9, 2012 the Delhi government launched a campaign to check on the city's conformity to the blanket ban on plastic bags. This was done by 25 teams from the Delhi Environmental Department who checked shopping malls markets and shops and even 5-star hotels in Delhi for their compliance to the blanket ban. The initial check revealed that 100 shops violated the ban and they will therefore face the legal consequences of fine or imprisonment or both.

Tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary

As we all know that Friday, December 14, was one of the saddest day here in America because of the tragedy or atrocity that happened in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. My heart breaks hearing the news of 20 little kids, ages 6 and 7, and 6 school staffs were slain by a really senseless act. I cannot grasp the idea of why there are people that can do such a thing. As the news and events unfold, you hear different stories of heroism and courage on the school staffs and children that survived that can really make your heart swell with emotion.

I am a mother of a Kindergartner, age 5, and I look at her every day and just get emotional thinking of those innocent lives that are now gone. They have full life ahead of them but were cut short. I know they are now in the Lord's haven and they will be free of any pain. I just pray that their families they left behind will find comfort knowing that they're angels and is now in a safe place.

As a mother, I also have questions every time I dropped off my kid in school if she is safe. I am not showing it to our daughter though. It is just something we can't help to feel because as they go in the outside world with their first step, we know that they will be facing different things. It is part of their life while growing up.

Now we ask,  is there a way to prevent such incident to happen again? There is really no guarantee. We should all act together and find a solution to this. As what the President had said, we can all do better and stop this from becoming a routine. The legislators should look into measures not just enforcing gun control that is appropriate for this generation and also look into the mental health issues of this country. Politics should be set aside to come up with a better solution for the good of the people. It is my fervent prayer as a mother that our kids will be safe wherever they will go.

Home Accents and Decorating Sense

When it comes to accessorizing the house, lamp is always present. You can find different types and designs of lamps. There are modern with sleek designs as well as those traditional Victorian designs. There are table lamps, floor lamps, wall sconces, and hanging lamps. But another thing that is good to decorate are candles. There are candle holders in different shapes and forms too.

Lamps and candles are really great home accents. My husband is not that fond of candles as he is very cautious it may cause fire in the house. I told him about himalayan candles and those himalayan salt crystal lamps that I am so curious about. He said he may try to look at it if it is safe, then we can get those type of candle holder.

Until now we are still trying to figure out different home accents that will fit in our place. It is a work in progress that I know will take a long time to be done as we tend to change our minds a lot. Decorating for us is by trial and error also as we are not gifted with decorating talent. I know in time what we started now will come together and we can clearly see what decorating sense to come up.

Freebies from Giveaways

This year I am so thankful for every opportunities that I came across online. I haven't really thought of doing reviews by sending pitch letters to different companies until some friends that I met while blogging showed how to do it. The thought of it to be hard is what really prevented me from doing. But until I did a first pitch and was successful that I became to like doing it again.

When you want to do a review, you also have to become responsible and do your part in a timely manner. I know for a fact that when you receive a lot of products then it will be hard to start doing the review. You feel lazy and I felt that too. If ever that's the case, you can stop sending pitch letters until all your tasks are done. That is what I did. Right now I stopped sending pitch letters and will resume when I am not that busy anymore.

Another way or receiving wonderful freebies is from giveaways. I've been lucky with some of the giveaways hosted by different bloggers and was able to win cool prices. The above pictures were few of my winnings and also a reward for doing a sale shoutout. I won some paypal cash too or some amazon gift codes. It is really fun to enter giveaways and promoting it as there will be a chance to win. You can also come across different blogs that are interesting while entering giveaways.

Renting Books for a Good Cause

Going to college is expensive. Not only you spend much on tuition but the books also have it's big share of high cost to students. And you cannot go to school without also getting the required textbooks for your courses. When I went back to school and took up Medical Coding and Billing, I bought all my books that cost me much money. Until now I still have my texts. Since I am thinking of having a refresher class for medical coding and take the ICD-10-CM class. I know buying this book will be expensive. Good thing now you can rent  books online thru CampusBookRental.

I did not know this back then. I could have rented all my texts from them and don't have a hard time disposing it. But it is not too late as I know where to go in case I need more books. For all those that are in school or will enroll this winter, check CampusBookRental. You can really save from 40% to 0% off of bookstore prices. They offer free shipping of the books you want to rent both ways. They also have a flexible renting periods. Renting books is way more cheaper and very affordable.

With renting books from CampusBookRental, you can also help in a big way. They have a program wherein they donate a portion to Operation Smile for every book rented. Operation Smile is really a great cause as it can make a difference to someone else's life who have cleft lip/palate. This is a great cause indeed.

So if you want to lessen your book expenses in your next classes, check CampusBookRental now. You can also check out this video below to learn more about them and how it works.

Back Ground Check

Applying for work is not really that easy. There are processes that you have to go through aside from the submission of application, interview, drug test, and so forth. Employers also ask for a back ground check to all the prospect employees. Even when you go for a volunteer, especially if you are dealing with kids in school or day care as well as volunteering in a care home, a back ground check is also needed.

In my daughter's school I wanted to volunteer but I haven't had the chance yet since I always forget to submit the documents for a back ground check. You cannot just tell them you want to come in the classroom to volunteer. This back ground check will let the employers know if you have any criminal liabilities or any other issues that may in the future becomes a problem when you will be working.

As to working with kids in school or day care, a back ground check is a must. There are so many crooks now a days that are prying to kids and as a Mom I am so agreeable with this back ground check process to ensure safety to our kids as a whole.

Choosing a Lamp as a Gift

A table or floor lamp can make a great gift, particularly as a wedding present. At Geoffrey Harris of London there's something perfect for even the choosiest person you know. A lamp is a stylish and different way of giving something which will stand the test of time, as well as show that you cared enough to go for the very best.

Young married couples, or older married couples for that matter, will appreciate something that really stands out. When you're starting out in married life, it's often difficult to afford everything that you'd ultimately like to own. Great lighting can make any room look a million dollars, and the Flos Tab F1 is a modern and sleek lamp by a top European designer, that won’t cost a million dollars. It is certain to impress. If you really want to splash out, or perhaps want to get together as a group with friends to buy a truly impressive piece, maybe consider the Bestlite range. This classic range is universally loved and will look as good in ten years as it does now.

A desk lamp makes a great gift for a student. If your offspring have moved into student digs, you'll want them to have the right light for study. Geoffrey Harris is based in Battersea, London, the capital of chic, and stocks everything from Anglepoise to a great range of clip on lights that offer directional lighting. Mother's Day is a great excuse to indulge your mum in a classic like the Hercules table lamp. A beautiful piece, it's easy to see what makes it so popular. Alternatively, the newest addition to the Geoffrey Harris range of modern contemporary lighting, the Tatou by Flos, is a fabulous way to splash out on someone you love.

Noxicare™ Natural Pain Relief Cream Review

As both me and my husband is into Insanity exercise, we always feel muscle pain. We use different kinds of pain relief cream but somehow nothing alleviates the pain. Although the pain goes away after few days, still I want something soothing to relieve the tightening of my muscles and joints. My husband also has some chronic pain that he is feeling in his shoulders and hips due to his physical training in the Army.

Then I was able to have the opportunity to review Noxicare™ - a natural pain relief cream that is specifically formulated for joint, nerve, and musculoskeletal pain. As a breakthrough natural, patented pain reliever formula, it has a combination of 7 of the world's potent natural pain relievers, to name: turmeric, willow bark, ginger, rosemary extract, holy basil, boswellia extract, and alpha lipoic acid. It can quickly and effectively alleviate aches and pains as well as lessen inflammation. As a natural formula, it also  ha no known side effects and without a prescription.

Based on my experience, this really is very effective natural pain reliever and it has a long lasting effect. Applying 2-3 times a day to the affected area can help a great deal in alleviating the pain. We are so glad to be able to able to try this product. This is the answer to our muscle pains.

This product can be bought at You can also check out their Facebook page for more updates and promotions as well as follow them on Twitter.

Surge Protector

The past days we experienced heavy rains and strong gust of wind that our electricity was fluctuating. I know as the winter approaches we have to brace for any inclement weather too. I told my husband to get bunn parts - bunn limit thermostat that will protect power surges and protects fuse as well.

As I am going to start my regular work at home, I will need also a UPS system that will regulate the power in my computer. I don't want to be in the middle of my transcription and then the power stops. At least with UPS I will have enough time to save my work before it will totally shut off. Maybe I can get a good deal of UPS tomorrow as it is black Friday.

Thanksgiving Day 2012

How's your Thanksgiving day celebration? Well, for us, we did not really cook at home. We went out to have a Thanksgiving dinner at Old Country Buffet. We decided not to cook as there's only the four of us and the little girls don't eat that much. Last year we cooked a lot and we ended up throwing the left over after three days.

So this time, we tried eating out for our Thanksgiving dinner. The restaurant was full. There was a long line when we got there. I guess we're not the only ones who didn't cook at home. I'm glad I decided not to cook as I know come Christmas eve we will be cooking as well as on New Year's eve.

I hope you all had a great celebration and we should always remember to give thanks not only during Thanksgiving day but all the days in our lives. For me, I am very much thankful for the life that I have right now and very much thankful for my family who keeps me going every day.

Science Instruments as Gifts

When I was in high school and college we always have experiments in our science laboratory. More so when I was in college as my major is Biology/Zoology. We always use different science instruments like microscope, ph meters, telescopes and other science tools.

Because we don't have enough instruments, we have to share. One microscope to 5 - 10 students, and we have to take each turn. It didn't occur to me then that this can be given as gifts to your kids who are now in high school. They can have their own instruments at home for study as well.

I've seen some parents that does this. I agree as this can really help our kids in their studies. It also give them the benefit of liking more science and become more interested in discovering things. As the holidays is here, this will surely a nice addition to gifting ideas to school kids.

Straight Point Stainless Steel Tweezers & Nail Clipper with Nail File and Pouch Set Review

Have you experienced buying tweezers and nail clippers because the ones you just bought are already dull, not working well, and nicked or chipped? Well, I experienced this already. One time, I was sorting the drawer in our bathroom vanity and I found way too many tweezers and clippers that some were already rusted. Of course I threw it away and only 1 left for the nail clipper and 2 of the tweezers. But I still say I needed one that can really be dependable in doing our personal grooming and hygiene. Great thing I was able to try out the ToiletTree Products Nail Clipper with Nail File and Pouch Set and a Straight Point Stainless Steel Tweezers. I received the two mentioned products for free in exchange for an honest review.

Both products I say is really very sturdy, and of good quality, stainless steel. I haven't seen a clipper or tweezer with this quality and in a beautiful matte finish. The clipper is really made to last a long time and cut nails even those hard ones without using any force. Before, I have to use both my hands to clip my toe nails. Now a small pressure applied to the clipper and my nails are cut nicely. It saves me time and effort. Because it is very sharp, you can see the cutting edges of your nails and this is when the nail file comes in handy. Additional bonus is the pouch to store the nail clipper and file. You can bring it wherever you go. For the straight point stainless steel tweezer, I am so glad having it for it also helps a lot in grabbing hubby's ingrown hair without fear of pricking his face. It is really made for precise tweezing.

I commend ToiletTree for making these products. And I learned that all the products on ToiletTree Products Grooming Line come with a Lifetime Replacement Warranty. Another guarantee that they really want their customers to be satisfied. They made these products with finest materials and great workmanship and they just want to give their customers what they deserve.

Rapunzel Bedding Set

I mentioned in my here that I bought our girls at Amazon a Tangled-inspired bedding set. It arrived on Saturday and I replaced both the girls' bedding with it. They're very happy since they both love Rapunzel. Our youngest even pretend that she is Rapunzel and her hair is long. Our DD1 already have a night gown with Rapunzel print on it. The little one on the other hand also asked me if she can have a Rapunzel night gown as well. I may have to look for one and will surprise her again.

Below are there pictures when they sleep the first time with their new bedding set.
DD2 sleeping on her toddler bed with her Rapunzel bedding set.

Testing her big sister's Tangled design bedding set.

I am very happy they enjoy it. Our girls bedding set are composed mainly of Disney characters print. I think it helps that they love the characters and they get to hug or snuggle with them in going to sleep. Our older girl love to know that the princesses in her story book also made it to her bedroom. I know as they grow older they will outgrow it. But for the time being, it keep them from liking to stay in their room. Our challenge now is the little one. Even though she gets excited to sleep in her bed, but she still wakes up in the middle of the night and move in our room. We still have to make sure she is fully trained to sleep by herself and loving their room more to stay in there the whole night.

Caring for Our Lungs

Our health is very important. If we are sickly and or suffering from any illnesses, it will cost us everything; money, happiness, and even our life as a whole. This is why the saying that says, "Health is Wealth" is so true in the real sense of the word. We have to take care of ourselves in order to pursue a better life.

All the systems in our body is very important. One is dependent from the other, and these systems works together for our good, health and mentally-wise. Our respiratory system takes care of our breathing. The lungs is the vital organ of this system. Breathing means living. So it is very important to take care of our lungs. Among other things, quitting smoking, if you smoke, is really important. Smoking does no good to our lungs. Even the second hand smoker, those that are around a smoker, is heavily impacted. They too can get the dreaded lung disease.

Caring for our lungs is very important. Accordingly, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death here in the US among men and women [Mayo Clinic]. Many lives were claimed because of this disease more than those who have colon, prostate, ovarian, and breast cancer combined. I've known of loved ones who passed away because of lung cancer and some of them were not even a smoker. So for those that smokes, if you quit smoking, even if you've been smoking for many years, you can significantly decrease your risk of getting lung cancer. You only have to have the will and determination to quit and become healthy.

Water Feature in the House

Sometimes it is really hard to decide on what to decorate in our house. But honestly, I wanted to have a water feature whether inside or outside our house. Water has a calming effect, and it can feel relax just by looking at it and even more hearing its sound as it trickles down. This wall fountain is a good focal point inside a house. It can be hanged above the fireplace. So this will create a water and fire harmony.

More ideas at waterfountainpros for water fountains that you can use to decorate your house. It is where I saw this beautiful wall fountain. My only concern though if we have a water feature inside the house is in cleaning it. I know that the water in this fountain will be stagnant even though it is moving through the electric motor, and it needs constant cleaning to avoid any bacteria to grow in it. I guess if I really wanted to have it, then I need to ensure that it is always clean and safe.

What's in My Mail This Week

Another exciting week again for me as I am expecting some stuff to be in the mail. This week is somewhat a good week as I was able to received those in the picture above. Those that we thought we won't buy or use changes as we have a taste of it through product reviews. We're able to get free stuffs from different sponsor companies and get to keep it as well. I am so thankful for this opportunity and enjoying it more at the same time.

What's on Your Pets Food Label?

As a pet owner, it is important that you recognise that not all pet food is the same. Some promise a healthy treat but in fact might not deliver those claims, whilst others are actually healthy. The AAFCO, fortunately, look out for those that abuse or misuse words and terms on pet food product labels.  Ensuring that your dog is eating a healthy diet, such as Purina DRM, is also important.

Below are some tips on ensuring that your pet eats only what he deserves. They are a part of your family and should be shown some consideration when possible, with regards to their health and quality of life.
You should read and then read again, any labels found on pet food products. However, simply reading them is not enough. You need to be educated into knowing exactly what they mean. If a product label should say chicken cat-food, it means that there is 95 per cent of chicken in the tin. If it says cat food with chicken, however, it means that there is only three per cent chicken. There are other variations of this too such as saying that there is a flavour of chicken or that it contains no chicken, in which case it has just the taste and flavour of chicken. The Purina JM diet will ensure that he is getting sufficient quality in his meals.

Try to read every ingredient on the product label. Manufacturers have to list every single ingredient but it should not be just a list. Each ingredient's specific weight or percentage must also be noted, with the main ingredient typically being listed first.

Try to not buy pet foods that indicate the main meat ingredient as a generic or umbrella term e.g. ‘meat’; the best pet food should have a certain kind of meat which should be listed and described on the label. Further, meats that typically contain animal tendons, organs, and bones are often the surplus from a slaughterhouse. You should avoid these kinds of meats as they are no more than by-products, the bits left over which have been rejected from use in the original manufacturing process and are typically extremely processed. This isn’t common knowledge.

By providing your pet with healthy foods like the Purina CN diet, you will already know that what you’re feeding them is free from sinister additives and other nasties.

Another Pics from Living Computer Museum

This photo was taken inside a room in the museum where they keep really cold at all times.  The DEC PDP -10 machine is kept here along with other somewhat like the old supercomputer, if I may so :-)  This room is so loud due to the air conditioning that they provide an ear plug if you feel the need to when getting inside.
One of the technician at the Living Computer Museum explaining about the DEC PDP-10 computer from the early 1970s. My husband is very fascinated about computers and having to see the old one's that are still in good condition he said is awesome.

Great Savings from Coupon Codes

Through the years I learned a great trick to save from my grocery shopping or shopping in general, that is to use coupons or coupon codes online. I don't have any idea about this before, but when I started blogging and see a lot of stay at home Moms, working Moms and Dads, single parent, and just about anybody using this, I did not hesitate to follow suit.

As the economy hits bad, we also need to make sure we save more to prepare for the rainy days. And I must say you can really save daily using coupon codes while you shop. Most stores nowadays offers this type of program. You can join your favorites' store e-mail list, and they will send you coupon codes to use for you next shopping trip. Some even give out coupons as well when you shop at their stores.

Another way of getting these coupon codes is to check out websites that offers coupon codes or promo codes for different online stores. If you really want to save on you shopping you can do so by going all the way out of your usual way of shopping. Not only regular people I know that are into savings but I heard some celebrities, popular folks that also advocates to use coupons, promo codes while shopping.

As the holiday is fast approaching. This is the time of shopping rush. I bet you also have your list of things to buy for the loved ones. So don't hesitate to check promo codes sites to check for coupon codes or use the coupons that comes in your mail. It is time to revolutionize your shopping strategy. Get a great savings from those coupon codes now.

Progression of Computers

Technology, specifically computers, have come a long way in the past 50 years. It is amazing to look at the difference of computers way back when this gadget was invented to todays' modern computers. I have here below pictures of old computer models that I took at the Living Computer Museum in Seattle Washington. This museum was just opened about on October 25, 2012 and is a brainchild of Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft. It is open to the public with an entrance fee, showcasing the very first computers that scientists used and how it develops.

The very old machine that they have in the museum is the minicomputer PDP 7 produced by Digital Equipment corporation. It's very interesting as a minicomputer but it is as big as a whole cubicle. The machine accordingly was introduced in 1965. The one in the museum was commissioned from the University of Oregon used by scientists and physicists. It is almost back in it's working condition.

The museum really gave life to the old systems and machines. If you like technology and computers, this place is really very interesting. I am just sharing here one of the old Apple computer and progression of Windows computers.

 Apple Macintosh computer.

 Windows 1.0

Windows 3.0

Windows 7

Windows 8 - Microsoft Surface

These are only few of the computers being displayed in that museum. The good thing is you can try it out there including those that are very, very old machines, and even play games like the old Congo Bungo, Donkey Kong, and some Atari games. It is an interactive museum and very interesting one.

Election is Over, Now What?

At long last the election 2012 here in the US is over. What can I do but to congratulate the President for being the victor of this election and going forward on his second term. I also congratulate and commend Mr. Romney for being humble in conceding and still is positive about America.

I am not into politics, but I have my ideals and principles and I follow on what I believe in. All of us have different opinions on anything, but what I don't like is that if you are passionate with what you believe in, you don't have to force your idea and opinion to other people in a manner that you are bashing the other person who differ opinion with you. Some even name calling people who support or voted for the candidate other than theirs. And why you ask what is wrong with people who voted for the candidate that they trusted and believe in? It is the same as why you voted for your candidate too. We have the freedom to choose and this is a democratic country. RESPECT, people!

I just shake my head on all the commotion going on in social media as to the reaction to this election. If you want change, start change from within. If you just keep mouthing your concerns, whining and hating, you will surely not see the light :-)

The best thing to do now is to work together for the good of the people. All of us wants change. All of us wants progress. The people in the government, both parties, should get their act straight and start working together. No progress can be attained if we only rely to those who are elected. We are the government too so we have to act also to move our country forward!

Trick or Treating 2012

We had fun yesterday trick or treating at the mall. It was raining yesterday and my kids just recovered from having cough and colds so I decided not to go around the neighborhood. Good thing there was an event at the mall, The Pumpkin Patch Bash, there were bounce houses, free candies, face painting, games and raffles. So we all went there along with some friends. Actually, almost all of my friends were there with the kids, but only few of us were able to gather as there were too many people inside. If you are claustrophobic you will not be able to stand the crowd.

After one round, kids had their face painted, played some games, got their candies and balloons, we all decided to call it a day. There were just too many people inside. When we got home that it's not raining, we then went around the neighborhood. There were still more people walking around and having on our streets. The kids enjoyed it and is now looking forward for next year.

A Student’s View - The Unknown Significance of Underfloor Heating

As a University student and ex-school pupil I know that a school or any other educational facility must meet certain legal requirements to fit in within particular health and safety guidelines. However, I did not know the extent of the consequences and disruption it would have to my learning if such requirements were not in place.

The significance of underfloor heating systems in such a learning environment is so important; this is why the UFH specialists Flexelec are considered a well-needed service. The use of self-regulating electric trace heating cables is necessary in maintaining warmth within the pipes of a building in cold weather and allowing the prevention of freezing in effect. Without this installed, the freezing of pipes has strong potential to cause water problems and possibly result in the pipes bursting. Such an occurrence would cause major disruption to a school or University, with classrooms out of use and closure of certain parts of the building, possibly even the entire building. The cables work so that the heat output is conditioned by the temperature, e.g. the temperature rises as the specially engineered resistive core is reduced, and vice versa.

Flexelec provide either stainless-steel or tinned-copper braid cables to ensure protection against mechanical shocks, prevent defrosting, and maintain temperature constant in pipelines and during chemical processes. In this current economic climate, it’s important that this type of product works well to ensure you won’t have to reinstall or renew it a year later; schools and Universities, in particular, need to save as money for learning resources. Significantly Flexelec’s electrical trace heating cables are made for the long term in terms of functionality, durability and reliability. Furthermore, Flexelec offers a wide range of cables which provide a selection of heat trace solutions and can be suited to every particular need, varying from refrigeration, heating elements or specialised cables required for gutters.

It is also hugely important for an educational setting like a school to use pipe tracing for the winter, especially as for the past few years the drops in temperature have been record-breaking. Flexelec’s pipe tracing products are designed to be durable, with the use of highly quality raw materials during their manufacture to certify their long life usage. All Flexelec’s pipe tracing is hardwearing with a 230V power supply as standard (115V and 400V can be arranged on request). Improperly fitted pipe tracing systems can potentially be very damaging to a University or school; it would cost a school or University board a lot of money for the damage to be fixed, money which could be spent on buying better learning equipment for pupils. It’s very important that you are provided with an underfloor heating system which you can trust, and with a Flexelec system, you can.

We've Been Boo-ed!

Three days ago while we were having our dinner, we heard a knock on our front door. Hubby checked and slowly opened the door. There was nobody outside but he saw a black bowl outside the door full of goodies.
Hubby brought it in and there was this message on top of it with a picture saying "You Have Been Boo-ed"!

Maybe one family in the neighborhood was also booed and continued the game. Accordingly, when you received this, you also pick another two of your neighbors and do the same. Prepare a little something for the kids and print out the Halloween poem and sign to deliver to your neighbor prospect. It is really a fun game that the kids enjoyed giving out treats to neighbor friends secretly.  Have you been boo-ed on Halloween too?

Severe Weather Disturbance

As we all know that in the other side of the country, the eastern seaboard, is now on weather alert as hurricane Sandy will be hitting on land. Accordingly the most will be hit are those in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and others. I hope that those in Sandy's path will be prepared.

Speaking of preparedness during weather disturbances and other calamities, what are your ways of being prepared? Every household should have an emergency kit that is stored in one safe container just in case of evacuation being imposed. All necessary documents must be sealed in a water proof or even fireproof case. When on stand by, make sure all electronics are charged and with extra batteries to be used. It is also good to have a portable radio with battery to listen to any updates in case there is power outages. Food, water, medicines, and other necessities must be stocked and readied too. And I think for me,  most of all, when evacuation is being ordered everyone should follow as it will be for the safety of everyone.

I often heard stories about being in danger because of not following orders when told to evacuate. I know some would be hesitant to leave the house and properties, but it is life that should come first. Material things can be replaced but not the life if this is taken.

I really pray that with this severe weather to be expected in the east coast, all those that will be affected are ready and prepared. Life will be spared and no great damage will take place. Let us all PRAY for the safety of all our brothers and sisters in this time of calamity!!!

Little Girls' Fashion

One of the things I enjoyed as a Mom is seeing our little ones trying out their best to dress up their selves. When we're at home, both our girls will be playing in their toy room, watch tv, coloring or reading, and playing dress-up. Little girls love to play dress-up. This is why I separated their dress-up clothes and hanged it in their toy room's closet so they won't be rummaging their closets.

This picture below is an example of how our little one just love to dress up at home. She's playing with her big sissy and often they'll tell me they're having a fashion show. I just let them be. Playing pretend is a good way to develop their imagination. They can surely come up with different styles and I just can't stop but laugh and get amused by them.

Island Cruise to Galapagos

I first heard about the Galapagos island when I was in college studying my bachelor's degree in Biology/Zoology. Our topic then was about the theory of evolution of Charles Darwin. The Galapagos was where the endemic species came from, during his voyage of the Beagle, that he collected, observed, and studied that led to the inception of this theory that centered on the natural selection. The theory simply put as the survival of the fittest. Those that can withstand and adapt with the environment is likely to survive and reproduce. It is very simple to understand but until now is being debated, especially in the religious sector.

Anyways, since then, I am very intrigued and I thought to myself that if given a chance, I will really do a Galapagos Cruise. Who would not want to go to this place where I heard there are natural habitats for different species are present? When I checked online, there are many Galapagos Cruises nowadays to choose from. This island is located in eastern Pacific Ocean and off the west coast of Sout America.

The natural paradise with lots of different animal species or flora and fauna to see is what I am so interested about this island. Galapagos Cruise Ship are carrying thousands of tourists and excursionists to this island and hopefully I will be one of them. It will be very wonderful to experience the island in person than just reading about it in my textbooks and or the internet.

The Fairy Hobmother Visited Me!

My fascination about fairies started when I was young. But it was heightened when I read about Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and watched the stage play when I was in college. The role of the fairies in this story fascinates me as it's very interesting.

Anyways, there is one very interesting fairy that is going around here in the blogsphere. He is no other than the Fairy Hobmother, who continually shower pixie dusts and granting wishes to come true. His fairy overlords really is spreading all throughout. He finally came to visit me and I am so ecstatic! I am so amazed and also glad as he is still checking out bloggers and sites that he finds worthy for the works they've put into doing what they love the most.

So for those who believe that wishes do come true, leave a short note in the comment area with your name, site and email as the Fairy Hobmother promises to check up on you. You can also follow him on Twitter to make sure you are still in contact with. I am pretty sure he will be knocking at your door soon with a good news to tell.

Cooking Dried Fish Inside the House

Arghh...I love dried fish but man oh man...the house really stinks after cooking it. I usually cook it outside on our grill's side burner. But since it's raining or shall I say just showering after 81 days of no rain, I can't cook outside. We don't have a covered porch. I ended up cooking the jeproks dried fish inside. It's our viand along with the pork adobo for lunch this afternoon when my friends came by for a visit.

I know my husband will complain of the smell when he gets home if I don't do something about it. He don't mind me cooking it but I myself can't stand the smell. So I opened the kitchen windows and back sliding door and have the vent on high. After frying the dried fish, I placed the hot pan outside, wiped the stove overhead vent with soapy sponge, cleaned the stove top, and sprayed the whole house with glade fresh linen scent. I left for door and window opened for hours and so far it worked.

I did not light any candles as there were kids playing and once they see candles they'll be all over it and I don't want any accidents. I was thinking of boiling a lemon or lime and just let it sit on the stove but I don't have lime. Good thing though that when hubby came home, he did not even have a hint that I cook dried fish if I didn't told him. So I guess the trick of cleaning the stove top and vent and spraying a room scent helped eliminate the odor.

Do you have any idea of eliminating the smell of dried fish after cooking? Care to share to tips so I can also share it to my friends here who loves to eat dried fish :-)
