School Year 2015 - 2016

The school just started today here in our county and our little students were very excited. Our third grader started today and the kindergartner will officially start on Monday. I am so grateful that kindergarten is now offered whole day for free in our school district. Until last year the whole day kindergarten had a monthly tuition of $340 and free for half day. Good thing the school district got more federal funding and our school were able to add 3 classrooms of whole day kindergarten.

The school where our kids go to is doing renovation so it is under construction until next fall. Our DD1's classroom is in a portable for now. She said it feels different to be in a portable compared to be inside the building. I hope she remains enthusiastic the whole school year as she is right now. She loves school so that makes her more motivated.

Our DD2 is a bit disappointed though that she gets to go to school on Monday. She keep saying she can't wait to go to school. I am glad that she also shows enthusiasm in learning more and going to school. Tomorrow we will have a conference with her kindergarten teacher to talk about expectations and also about WaKIDS or what is known as Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills.

Our 3rd grader excited to pose for her first day of school.

Five Helpful Suggestions for Choosing a Walk-in Freezer for Your Restaurant

Many commercial freezer merchants sell walk-in freezers that are designed to meet the needs of restaurants. Here are five helpful suggestions for choosing a walk-in freezer that are easy to use while you shop:

Choose a Storage Capacity
Walk-in freezers have storage capacities that vary considerably. Choosing one of these storage capacities is necessary because it can help you determine how much space you will need to freeze food properly.

One way to choose the proper storage capacity for restaurant-quality walk-in freezers is to remember to use the following tips while comparing storage capacities:

Consider how much food your restaurant uses each day. Choose a storage capacity that can help you freeze food properly without wasting energy. Choose a storage capacity that fits naturally with your restaurant's kitchen design.

Choose a Locking Mechanism Most walk-in freezers use locking mechanisms that offer an easy way to secure its contents. Some of these locking mechanisms include:

Deadbolt locking mechanisms. Handle locks. Lock-and-key systems.

Look for Polyurethane Insulated Panels Polyurethane insulated panels are insulators that are designed to keep food cold by absorbing cold air through the panels’ surfaces. Choosing walk-in freezers that have these insulators is worthwhile because they offer the best way to keep food cold without wasting energy.

Look for Galvanized Aluminum Floors Many walk-in freezers that are used in restaurants have galvanized aluminum floors that are designed to be easy to clean. Choosing walk-in freezers that have these floors is recommended because they offer an economical way to keep your freezers clean that is easy to incorporate into your restaurant's kitchen design.

Add a Drip Guard Drip guards are small pieces of rubber or plastic that are attached to the bottom of a freezer's doors. Most walk-in freezers use these devices to keep condensation from dripping on your floor. As a result, adding a drip guard is an easy way to prevent safety problems that can make using a walk-in freezer difficult.

As you may have noticed, choosing a walk-in freezer for your restaurant requires choosing a freezer that offers the best design and storage capacity. Be sure to use the suggestions mentioned above to choose a walk-in freezer for your restaurant that features these useful design elements.

Features to Look for in Coffee Mugs for Restaurants

An individual who decides to open a restaurant has dozens of things on his or her to-do list. One of the most important things on that list is to get a reliable collection of dishes. Furthermore, if the restaurant plans to offer a selection of specialty coffees the owner needs to purchase the perfect diner coffee mugs. Learn what a restaurant owner should look for when choosing a supply of coffee mugs.

A coffee mug used in a restaurant should be made of quality material. As a general rule, many mugs and other dishes end up on the floor in a restaurant. A mug may be dropped as it is being put into a dishwasher. Or, one may be dropped by a customer who is sitting at the counter having a meal. A mug that is made of durable materials is less likely to break when it is dropped than one made of flimsy material. In short, having well-made coffee mugs can save a restaurant owner money on replacement dishes.

An Attractive Appearance

Successful restaurant owners understand that customers pay attention to both the quality as well as the presentation of food and drink. So, it’s important to have attractive dishes that add to the presentation of the items on the menu. Many diners like to remember the entire dining experience including the tastes, sights, sounds and aromas in a restaurant. Delicious coffee is all the more enjoyable when served in an appealing mug.

A Memorable Touch

A restaurant owner is wise to look for coffee mugs that can be personalized. Printing the name of the restaurant on the side of a coffee mug is an effective way to make an impression on customers. In fact, many restaurants sell coffee mugs that display their name. The customer gets a beautiful coffee mug bearing the name of the restaurant and the restaurant owner takes advantage of some free advertising.

Finally, an owner should keep in mind that all of the dishes as well as the décor add to the overall tone of an eatery. Customers will return to a restaurant where they feel relaxed and welcome. So, paying close attention to every detail of the supplies and décor can move an owner closer to opening a successful eatery.

The Importance of Hiring a Company That Offers Alarm Monitoring

Some homeowners think that simply having a home security system is enough to keep criminals at bay. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. While a home security system triggers an alarm if someone breaks into your home, it might not immediately contact the police. Here are some of the main reasons why having an alarm monitoring company watching over your home is a must.

Protection While You're Away

Let's say that you're on vacation or at work when your home alarm goes off. You're not there to hear it, so there's no way that you can contact the police. If you're lucky, your neighbors might hear the alarm and contact the police on your behalf, but if they're not home, you're completely defenseless if the alarm doesn't chase away the home invader. Hiring a company that offers alarm monitoring give you a team of highly trained professionals to always watch your home.

Protection While You're at Home

Of course, a monitoring company doesn't just protect your home while you're away; it protects you while you're at home as well. If your alarm goes off while you're at home and you go downstairs to check it out, you may find yourself confronted with armed robbers. If they force you to turn off your alarm, there is a good chance that no one will even know that you're in trouble. A monitoring system will notice that your alarm has been tripped and dispatch the police right away. This keeps you and your family safe.

Security Codes

Another cool feature that monitoring companies typically offer is a pass code system, which protects you in the event that you're confronted by an intruder who has asked you to turn off the alarm. With a special pass code, you can turn off the alarm while warning the monitoring company that you are under distress. All of this is done without the intruders even knowing that you just called for help.

Alarm monitoring companies have people like you covered from every angle. For example, many jurisdictions charge homeowners a fine for a false alarm. With a monitoring company, you can be informed that your alarm has been triggered and take action to turn it off. These are just a few of the ways that a monitoring company can protect your home 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How to Grieve the Loss of a Loved One

Losing a loved one is something that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. Whether you lose a parent, grandparent, child or close friend, you may need some time to cope with your loss and figure out how to move on with your life. Though you feel down and sad right now, you will eventually learn how to remember your loved one and remember the great times you shared together. In the days, weeks, months and even years after losing someone special, you can find ways to grieve and move on.

Celebrate His or Her Life

Far too many people think that the grieving process is a time to focus on everything that person will miss out on and how much they miss that individual. Now is actually a good time to celebrate his or her life. Do something memorable that lets you remember all the great moments you had together. Gather a group of family and friends together to do something in honor of your loved one. You might share dinner at his or her favorite restaurant or go camping at a campground the person loved. Share stories and memories together of your missing loved one.

Do Something Unexpected

When thinking about your loved one, see if there is anything that person always wanted to do and never got the chance. Maybe a friend looked forward to seeing a film starring her favorite actor, or maybe you had a father who always wanted to go skydiving. No matter how crazy it might seem, you can do that completely unexpected thing in honor or your loved one's memory. Whether it's skydiving, getting a tattoo, visiting a foreign country or meeting a celebrity, you can do it for your loved one.

Memorialize Your Loved One

Grieve your loss at the same time that you memorialize the loved one who passed on. Add a new Christmas ornament to tree in honor of that person, or bring home a sculpture of an angel or something similar. The Willow Tree Collection and similar collections have beautiful sculptures and figurines that are perfect for those going through the grieving process. You may want to place a memorial marker in your garden or a paved stone with the person's name on the top too. Though it may take some time, you will eventually remember your loved one without always feeling so sad.

Wonderful Birthday to My Hubby!

Just wanna express my happiness for having a husband that really cares for his family. I know our marriage is not a bed of roses. We do have some thorns along the way, but having a husband that is God-fearing, responsible, and really thought of family first before anything else makes it easier for me to face challenges in life.

I thank God for giving him more wisdom, for his goal to know more about Him, and for all his effort to become a better person. He has big dreams about our family's future and I will always be here to support him and stand by him no matter what.
